Can someone help me understand something about the pricing I am seeing here? I am on their site, and did a search for 3090 cards, from any mfg. Obviously, as he mentioned the above drop almost 50 minutes ago, they are all long gone, no shocker there, but looking at the prices, Wow. They ranged from $1700 to $2150. And these were just 3090's not even KPE's. I understand the supply/demand thing, but I thought that retailers were supposedly still required to stick with MSRP pricing, and from what I am seeing, considering what I just paid for my KPE card a couple days ago, it appears that this is out the window, and it's now the wild west not only buying them from eBay and such, but even retailers are getting in on the action? Or am I missing something?

Retail prices have been creeping up. Manufacturers cannot dictate price...that is why MSRP is a "suggested" price...so, retailers can go up or down (manufacturers can pull comarketing dollars, not renew agreements, etc., so MSRP is still a material factor in retail pricing)...but, to answer what I think is the larger question, the longer we remain on our watch, the more we are going to pay (regardless of model) when we do get to pull the trigger. Folks who got a KPE early may end up paying less than the 3090 folks or, eventually, the 3080 Ti folks...(maybe a slight exaggeration on that last point).

I passed over a few other 3090 notifications waiting for this one. Glad I did! I bought a couple EVGA 2080 Ti XC Ultras last go around and regretted not waiting for the Kingpin. I did get a good used price on the one I have now during the used card sell off earlier in the year. Apparently the AIO pump was defective and the card was returned. It was brand new otherwise. Just had to put it under a Bykski waterblock.
An Nvidia FE at MSRP is a good buy. In my experience Founder's Editions hold their value as well as or better than EVGA cards.

I’m putting mine in my custom loop as well I’d just rather grab one now and have it ready when Optimus has a block out then wait till March or so for the Hydro. It’s unlikely the hydro will be better then Optimus so I would of switch to their block anyways so for me doesn’t matter hybrid or not. Though I’ll still try for a Hydro when it comes out
