Hello,

I preordered a "EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC ULTRA GAMING". Im wondering if you use the Nvidia reference/FE PCB on this version of the 2080ti ?
I ask because i wanna use an EK waterblock on my new 2080 ti, and EK told me that they will have waterblocks ready for the reference/FE PCB on the 20th of September.

I would really not want to buy it directly from Nvida to get a FE version, as I prefer dealing with EVGA. So I tought I would ask here, maybe the "EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC ULTRA GAMING" doesnt have a custom PCB and the EK waterblock made for the 2080ti FE will fit ?

Best regards!

Jacob stated that the first release of cards should work with the waterblock that is going to be available.

It was in another thread, but he has stated the block should fit the same as the founders and reference pcb.

By extension, I assume blocks like Alphacool's which are also being released for Founder's 2080Ti should fit? I have that one on pre-order but with my eye on EK's pre-orders as well. May grab one of those just to be safe.

If EK or Alphacool indeed fit the XC which I'm getting 9/21 I'm going to be so damned happy.

Current build: DCS4VR (Custom Loop)
7700k + Cuplex KRYOS Vision block @ 5Ghz
EVGA 1080Ti FE + EK block/backplate
Maximus IX Code
16GB Corsair Vengeance LED DDR43000
500GB Samsung 960 EVO m.2
Dell U3415W
VIVE Pro

That's nice... you can install waterblock from literary every brand.
Or you can find FE cooler on Ebay from some people who immediately get rid of him and install waterblock or AIO.

For me nicest waterblocks for GPU are EKWB Acetal+Nickel and Kooalance Acetal nicest GPU blocks.
But Eisblock from Alphacool is AMAZING.

EKs blocks are up for preorder

https://www.ekwb.com/shop...eforce-rtx-20x0-series

Just looked at them. It looks like unless you remove the silver / black end piece on the power connector end you will not be able to use the EVGA power link with that block - assuming the power link will work with the 20** series cards

Thanks for the info guys and EVGA people. Love your guy's products. I messaged EK through their compatibility configurator but no response. I assumed the first release of cards would be reference PCB, but nice to have official confirmation.

Was confirmed a while ago. The 2080 and 2080 Ti XC and XC Ultra are reference PCBs and EK has marked those cards as compatible with their blocks based on visual analysis (not physical but there shouldn’t be any issues).

They weren't listed when I checked last week.

And 3 weeks is a peculiar definition of a while ago?

Most people wouldn't want to preorder a waterblock and the fittings to only have to return it and pay for shipping back to Europe, hence the question and why I came to the forum to confirm from an actual EVGA employee. Visual inspection is iffy at best for a component that needs close tolerances and proper contact with the TIM so as to avoid heat damage.

What was the point of your post exactly?

My point was to answer your question. EVGA confirmed the first cards were reference and EK lists "visual" compatibility for those cards on their site: https://www.ekwb.com/conf...terblock/3831109810460

I didn't ask you any questions, therefore an answer from you wasn't necessary. An EVGA employee answered my question.
Who are you exactly? And why do you keep posting?

There's no need for that as we all come here to help each other and to be fair, you hijacked someone else's thread before going off on someone's help.  If you're looking for an answer just from EVGA or any company, you will need to contact them specifically.

You people are really lacking in reading comprehension. Scroll up and you clearly see an EVGA employee by the name of Jacob confirm the question of the original poster. I never at any time asked for the opinion of any random people on the internet for a card or water block you don't have. You are currently on the EVGA forum. That is the logical place to go to inquire about a product I preordered, which the original poster did, and the information was publicly shared for people like myself who shared the same question, hence the forum.  If I contacted EVGA through some other means I would just be asking them a question that was already answered on their forum.
