I know a lot of people reading this may think this post should be in the RTX 20 series area but my post covers lots more than my recent RTX 2070 acquisition.
I have always been an AMD & EVGA/NVIDIA fan since they started. I ordered my RTX 2070 on Mar 12 & it just arrived this morning by courier. It was a slight improvement from my GTX 780 TI card LOL.
I am still amazed at the quality of this card. 4K UHD never looked so good & games are beyond description.
My heavy gamer friends came over & now they want one. They were amazed at the overall quality & speed of this card. They also laughed & told me I was an idiot for buying the extended warranty on this card. I told them I always do that out of habit & a wise choice to protect your investment. They continued to laugh & pointed to all my other computers still running with older Nvidia cards & said "..really..you got EVGA/NVIDIA stuff still running after decades of use with zero issues... so why bother extending warranty when you know that they will last forever...". They do have a slight point.
I have a Nvidia Geforce FX5200, Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS, Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS OC, Nvidia Geforce GTX 770, Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 TI all currently still running in 2020 in perfect condition with zero errors/issues thus far. My only reason for getting the newer RTX 2070 was to see the difference in games & video processing over my GTX 780 TI. Let me tell you...unbelievable speed/quality difference.
I am slightly sorry I got the extended warranty though since EVGA products have never let me down & I trust their products to last a lifetime because they build quality items. Every video card I mentioned has an EVGA PSU attached & they have been through massive blackouts/brownouts, lightening striking the pole transformer & sending spikes out that blew everything else but them.
It's only my first day with my new RTX 2070...but after I play a lot more with it...I shall update my post in a week or so..or maybe longer. Guys are still laughing behind me & anxious to put the new card through it paces with some games & want me to wrap up my post lol.
Anyone that is still on the fence about upgrading to the new RTX series....jump off & run & buy one!! You will not regret it. i haven't & only wish I had done so a lot sooner :)

Slight improvement? Hehe I'm going to assume sarcasm? I got a RTX 2080 Super and it's mind blowing in terms of performance. I came from a 980 GTX, as I had skipped the 1080 generation because they were so expensive for so long and I wasn't earning much then. I love my 2080 Super but boy was it a pain to get it's temps under control. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to get it under 70c at 2k gaming. When I first got it it was overheating to 84c at 60 frames a second at 1920x1080 in a new game. But it taught me a HEAP of information about cooling that I had never ever bothered to really care about much until the 2080 entered my life. Edit: I have been an evga fan since 2003 when I ditched the Voodoo 3 card, although I didn't start registering til 2007 I think?

That's quite a jump for both of you. <<[OP and GTXjack] Glad you're enjoying your new card. I don't think getting a warranty beyond the factory is bad. You just never know, also with the higher price I think it's wise. I have rarely had issues, but they are always taken care of. Enjoy! Welcome to the forums lurker.

that is a little better then my jump in time and from one to another GPU. I am going from an AMD radeon HD 6770 (see profile pic) to an EVGA RTX 2070 super FTW3 ultra+.
