Hi there!

Ever since I got my new 1080 I've been experiencing issues in Destiny 2 (broccoli / lock up) , Farcry 5 (lock up / performance issues) and Diablo 3 (artifacts / lock up). I've gone through all relevant troubleshooting steps suggested online, so far, the only thing that works is by putting the card in debug mode via control panel.

Has EVGA dropped the ball on this one? I've seen numerous posts here and everywhere else about the same issues, and most certain I'll have to RMA my card. I've also seen how many people had the same results after their RMA replacement. Previous card was a Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Gaming, no issues with that card whatsoever in the 3 years of ownership.

Specs: Intel core i5 6600K, Asus Sabertooth Z77, 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4, 750W EVGA SuperNOVA G2, Corsair h100i cooler, Crucial 240GB SSD system drive, Win 10 Pro, Asus Predator 34X.

I'm having the exact same issue with the 1080ti SC2 black I just recieved from a step up from a 1080 FTW2. 1080 ran fine as did the Asus strix 970 it replaced and was put back in for the step up wait. I tried debug mode in the nvidia control panel yesterday and was able to play.  Just locked up again but it looks like the control panel think unchecks when you reboot. I'll report back

I might have to download this just to see if it is sensitive to clocks. There are games like Metro 2033 that don't like any GPU clock over 2012 on my system. Everything else runs at 2050 all day at 1.1v.
But no games should be crashing on the mild clocks on an SC.

Tried with XOC put the fans at 85 underclocked by 15 on everything. Was almost stable. Was able to play a bit. Locked up trying to gamestream to the shield TV today. I'm not even trying to OC. Guess I have to give EVGA more money to get an advanced RMA. The step up price was $769 when the cards were going for $650 bundled with a mouse on their website not to mention the $20 to ship it back for the step up. Maybe they will have some pity for a long time customer who just recommended their products to friends and built the systems for them and send me a FTW card or a 2080. Wishful thinking

If you're needing an RMA, unless you're going to eat the overnight  shipping...this weekend might be a bit optimistic.

It does. A reboot resets it back to default.

Seems to be a hit and miss.

I've noticed that my debug mode does indeed stay on after a reboot or power down, but, it has also not stayed on at times (maybe due to updates of some sort?). I haven't done a great deal of research as to why this might be the case. I've just made a habit of it now to check the setting every time I start up my PC.

I was able to play for quite a bit when I OC'ed 10+ on both the mem and GPU using XOC with the fan at 80 but I just don't want to mess with tuning. As I'm still within 30 days I spent the money for the advanced RMA would of cost as much to ship it back plus they will then cross ship. I may even pony up for the extended warranty. EVGA made good on a lifetime warranty years ago for a card and I have no qualms about recommending them. Hope you get it sorted IronNerds

Thanks condo19! I've played around to OC the card with max fans, same thing, just crashes, so looks like a memory issue like most posts suggest. This is the reason I bought the Ti version, so I don't have to faff around with OC settings. I just want it to work "out of the box". I am however disappointed in a 4 figure card (IN NZ that is) that so many people have issues with. I think it should only be fair from EVGA to offer a free replacement, no questions asked, since it's such a wide know issue with these cards, rather than dealing with a local retailer RMA.

Got the replacement card. Uninstalled xoc and a clean driver install. Just works. :)

    UPDATE: 16/11/2018

So I sent the card back under an RMA where I purchased it from, and they sent it to wherever to get it tested. It was found that the card was "faulty", and replaced the card. This took about 3 weeks.

In the meantime, I bought a second hand Gigabyte GTX960 2GB, for $160, just to tie me over while this RMA process took place....more on this.

Now, when I sent the card in, I packed it in my original box with all the accessories. I received the "replacement" back, in my original box, just with a different card in it. I thought to myself, that's a bit funny.....why would you take another card out, and just put it in my box. My thought here is that they simply replaced my card, with another card that was sent in for repairs, that was refreshed and deemed repaired to be sent out again.

Anyhow, so I got home, took out the "cheapie" 960 (btw, this ran just fine for the 3 weeks, never missed a beat) and installed my card. I did the usual fresh driver install and loaded Destiny 2 up for some action. Low and behold, not even a minute into the game, "Broccoli" error.....here we go again! So the RMA card does EXACTLY the same as the one I sent in.

At this point, I janked the EVGA card out, put the old beater in again (not even bothering with a fresh driver install) and proceeded to play Destiny 2 into the night, no problem.

EVGA, thanks for my $1300 paper weight, it does the job well!

    I'm done.....mic drop.

Wait, you're blaming EVGA because your retailer apparently gave you a bad GPU? Why wasn't your first email to them (assuming it wasn't)? That you got it back in your original box, is really fishy.
