Hi all
I recently bought EVGA GTX1070 SC Gaming Black edition, and when I play PUBG & DOTA2 it crashes constantly. Sometimes, I can play for an hour or two, and sometimes it crashes right after I join games. When I launch the game after the crash, it says some of the files are corrupted, and I do file verification, and it downloads 1 file most of the time, but sometimes whole game gets broken and starts to download it. I put another card, Zotac GTX1050, and works without no issue. RMA option is quite troublesome for me to do, so if it's possible I'd like to troubleshoot it myself, and please help me people :).

Mobo:Gigabyte B360M DS3H
CPU:i5-8400
Memory: Ballistix Sports 2x8gb
M2:Samsung Evo 970 250gb
PSU: Coolermaster 600w
OS:Win-10-Pro-64bit

Which web browser ? [test by turning Hardware acceleration - Off]
Test ---> Turn Off OSD
What OC software is running ?
What Background software is running ?
Test #1 stock clocks on your PC - including removing XMP settings for RAM
BIOS up to date ?
Which Nvidia Driver ?
What changes have you made in Nvidia Control Panel ?
What Temps are you seeing on the CPU & GPU ?

As the 1050 will not be as power hungry and depending on the model, most 1050's do not require additional power but I cannot speak for Zotac. I would recommend swapping out the PSU with a known working one or verifying the voltages are within spec and not fluctuating. Also, as Sajin mentioned, testing the card in a friends system with a known working card to confirm the issues are following the 1070

@Cool GTX: I'm not running any OC software, bios is up to date, Nvidia 430.29 game ready driver,
In Nvidia setting, I turned off V-sync, set power option to max performance, CPU temps are when playing reaches 60 degrees, GPU reaches around 65-70 degrees.
Removed XMP profile in bios.
In background usually just microsoft edge is working.
@Sajin: I gave my card to friend of mine for a day, he tested it, and it didn't crash.
@EVGA_Tech_DanielM: I've changed my psu with my friend's, and it still crashed.

Do you know what testing your friend did on his system? Have you tested multiple PCI E lanes on your board and got some compressed air and attempted to dust out the PCI E lane on your board? When is the last time you have done a clean install of Windows?

Perform #4 listed here, and let us know if it prevents the crashes from happening or not.

@EvgaTech: My friend tested with only playing PUBG :). I checked the PCI-E lane, it was absolutely clear since the build is pretty new. Also my MOBO has only 1 pci-e lane. I installed fresh install of windows like two weeks ago. @Sajin: I've already performed it, but I think maybe I didn't get the correct (exact) underclocking value there. Tried it a few times, and didn't work. Usually I was underclocking by 50-200mhz in clock and ram. One more issue to mention that whenever PUBG crash, some of its files gets broken, and I have to verify the files through steam.

PUBG is hard to diagnose as that specific game is very buggy and almost unplayable at times. Have you used DDU to wipe the drivers and install the latest one that came out today? Have you tried to enable Debug mode under the NVIDIA control panel --> Help and leaving the window open in the background and testing again?

+1  DDU [ guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html ] try Nvidia driver 419.17 Copy your BIOS settings - (ell phone camera works good)-- Set BIOS to default, then Clear the MB CMOS, reboot to Default BIOS, reboot and change to your settings & reboot again Still have issues ---> might be time for a Clean reinstall Win 10  Did this start after a MS Windows Update ?

First of all, thanks for everyone for the effort.
@EVGATech:I did DDU when I fresh installed windows, and enable debug mode, it kind of helps for a little while, and crash happens again later. Is that Guru3D is a testing software?
@Cool_GTX: had Nvidia 419.17 but issue still persisted. What is MB CMOS? and how do I clear it? Had a fresh install of Win10 like 2 weeks ago. Before windows update it started, I think.
@Sajin: My friend tested it for like 3 hours of PUBG play.
After the crash some of game files gets broken and i need to redownload the failed files. Could it be issue with the SSD? if yes, how do I troubleshoot the SSD?
