I have a EVGA GTX 980 ti sc+ and my problem is that when I turn on my computer and then I try to play a game the fans don't turn on and it starts to overheat  but when I launch EVGA Precision XOC or MSI Afterburner the fans start to turn on. Does this happen to every EVGA graphic card? Do have to launch EVGA Precision XOC or MSI Afterburner every time for the fans to turn on? If thats the case then I might not buy another EVGA grapic card.

Strongly recommended that you have EVGA Precision running. However, even without EVGA Precision running the video card should start the fans spinning higher as the heat for the card rises. If that is NOT occurring at all based on your observance then please contact EVGA tech support ASAP.

Welcome to the EVGA Forums..Your card has ACX 2.0+ cooling and 0dB  (fanless) operation when the GPU temperature is below 60C..You should notice the fans turn on at around 60C..It is also normal for the fans to twitch slightly when operating in fanless mode..The fanless mode can be overridden with EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner so that the fans will run when GPU temperature is below 60C..GPU Boost will begin to throttle your card's clock speed at 83C, which is the Temp Target shown in Precision or Afterburner..The Maximum GPU Temperature for a 980 Ti GPU chip is 92C as specified by NVIDIA..Hope that helps.

I found out that when I go to sleep I turn off my computer and then I unplug the power cable and in the morning I turn on my computer then try to play a game and the fans don't turn on but I launch EVGA Precision XOC or MSI Afterburner the fans start to turn on so I tried to turn off my computer and turn it on with out removing the power cable and then played a game and the fans turned on so is not getting any power to the fans when I unplug the power cable for 8 hours but the thing is I have to launch EVGA Precision XOC or MSI Afterburner for the fans to start turn on.
