Hello guys , i hope someone can help me on my trouble. I have an EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ ( its now around 3 months in use by me ) and i noticing on a fev games while playing when i reaching a temp around 60c and the fans jumps up to 60% + the game i play easly starting to stutter and getting lags. This happens randomly on games i plaiyng , so far the GPU is under 60% Fan speed everything runs smoth without problems , but for exmpla "The Crew" game get the GPU really fast to 60c and reaching max temp around 65c , but so far im into 60c the game starting to stutter and laging , when im stop my car on the road and easly watching how the Temp is going down and same time the Speed of the fans , i can start to race like nothing happens.

I just wonder now why ? Is 60c temp someting like the max temp of the 970 i own ?

Any sugestion would be nice.

I playing so  much games but only a fev of them actually kicking up the Temp to around 60 , the GPU is really nice and most of the newest game runs at a temp around 30-45c >> an idle temp is around 25-27c.

I hope someone can point me on what i can do.

If needed but im sure it is here is my Rig Config:

The max temp on that card is well into the 90s, but it shouldn't start throttling until you get into the 80s. You may want to check some of the other temps in your system to see if other things are overheating as well.

Have you tried installing another version of the driver (like 362.00) to see if that increases your stability? Could be a software issue too, since 60°C is not particularly high for a card to run under load.

I can confirm they shouldn't throttle at 60c. I've got two myself, and my primary card runs at 78-81c in games and I never throttle. I've seen monitoring software cause some issues sometimes where the card will throttle and the fans kick up unnecessarily, so try running your games without PrecisionX/Afterburner running and see if the fans ramp up or the stuttering happens again. If it goes away without the software, try uninstalling it, deleting the folder it installed to, then reinstall the drivers like Garrett suggested?

Give that a try and see how it goes.

Post a picture of your msi afterburner/precision x hardware monitor graph after the issue has been occurring for at least 5 minutes.

Definatelly everything cold , the CPU is not even reaching 40-45 c temp while playing the game when the GPU gets to around 60 and starting to lag , and i checked the temo with a fev different apps like MSI Afterburner , SpeedFan ect.. About the drivers , i am actually on the 362.00 because i feel some fps drops in a fev games with driver 364.51 , 364.72 or even the 364.47 that was causing problems to alot peoples ( not to me but fps drops ) m also the lastest new driver that works fine to me is the 362.00 so im still holding it..

Hmmm , i didint have tryed to run anything without Precision X and  the MSI Afterburner im turning only sometimes on when i like to track the infos to see how the temps / usages are... But would this be really clever ? So far i have noticed the Fans on the GPU , does not sping without Precision X , also they are like turned off.. I noticed that once when i have reinstalled from windows 8.1 to 10 and i forget to install Precision X but notice trought the case windows that the fans holding and dont spining , so far i have installed Precision X , the simply started to sping..

    For Sajin

    1: FPS
2: GPU Temp , Speed Fan % , Memory Usage , Clock Speed
3: CPU Temp , CPU Usage
    4: Ram Usage

    TRacking with MSI Afterburner

From the images you provided everything looks fine. Try posting an entire hardware monitor graph like this...

How do your frametimes look five minutes before the issue starts occurring?

If you have any thermal paste, you need to take the cooler off and check the paste that is on the die and change it out. It only takes a few minutes, some rubbing alcohol, and new thermal paste.

You may have a section of your die that isn't properly covered with paste, even though your temp sensor is reading fine. It's an easy check and won't take long to do.

So far i have noticed this one is ever zero , would it be helpfull if i add this to the ingame monitor and try again to play the game with tracking the frametime ?

Which one are you referring to? Yes, lets see a graph of frametimes before the issue starts occurring.

If the game is not open you won't get a frametime reading which is normal.

Don't know why it's not working. So you're saying that when your playing the game and not experiencing issues your frametimes are reading 0 during that period?

OK got it working after restart , when im ingame and playign , the time when the game runs butter smoth the Frametime is mostly staying around 16,5 and flying sometimes around 16,5 > 20 for a really short time and backs down to 16,5 so far the game reach 60c the game easly getting those lags and the Frametime goes a little down like 14 > 10 for a short time and backs up to 16,5 , but so far the frametime stays on 16,5 the game is at that time really smoth without any problems "not even a little problem" lfeels like playing Pac Man at 200 FPS if you know what i mean :)

Ok, that is fine. Does the lag go away when running the games graphics on the lowest preset?

No , exactly this game that i using as example tonight , have the same issue when i tottally lover the ingame graphic settings , also there is no actually FPS issue , the lowest fps i seen in this game , even its maxed out was 54 once when i drived away from around 20 cops hunting me trought high Grass. But mostly its betwen 57-60 FPS..

Install driver 347.88 and report back if you're still having the issue.

I have two things to point out:

    1) The card may change its performance slightly around 60c.  Although it isn't technically "throttling", some people tend to call it throttling when in fact it is just a minor downclock to a slightly lower performance mode caused by NVIDIA's GPU Boost 2.0 technology.

    2) By your description, it sounds like your CPU is the primary culprit causing your game to feel laggy.  You mentioned that if you are in a congested area with a lot of other artificial intelligence around you, the game feels laggy.  When you leave that area to a more secluded area, the game doesn't feel as laggy.  That is a classic case of CPU performance not being as good as is needed.

Wrong thread? OP said nothing like this.

I will ask again, in case you missed my post earlier... Could you check the thermal material and replace it?

He says it isn't actually a FPS issue.  He is saying that the FPS doesn't really drop much.  It mostly feels "laggy" when he is driving around through long grass next to 20 cops (for example).   Seems like a classic CPU bottleneck to me.

Could he monitor his CPU usage and see how many of his CPU threads are being used and how high the CPU usage is on the threads which are being used?

Or maybe the OP is just incapable of expressing his observations in English in a way which makes sense to me.  Half of what he has said seems to disagree with itself or seems otherwise misleading.

He didn't state if he was lagging while running away from the cops. He was just stating that he has seen as low as 54 fps while running from cops through high grass.

Fair enough.  But he did say "lowest" at that time.  And the original title of this thread was "lag".  Then he said that the FPS was fine and wasn't an issue.  So, I have to put two and two together and assume that "lowest" correlates with "lag" in his mind and that it happens mostly around lots of AI and environments with lots of physics effects such as the situation he mentioned specifically around the time of "lowest" performance.
