Hey all, due to the shortage, I never got a 3080 and not willing to pay the overpriced prices so I am holding out until the RTX 4080 comes out.
 
My question is:  How long do you think my GTX 1080ti will last.
 
 
Here is what I am running
 
3 monitors(1 is into the onboard gpu, 2 on the GTX 1080ti
 
Monitor 1 & 3 1920x1080 240hz configured as 1080x1920 60hz
Monitor 2 is 3840x2160p 4k Vizio TV that I use to play my mmorpgs

Phantex 500a case
360mm aio
aftermarket fans.
 
GPU temps at 1920x1080  40c to 60
GPU temps at 4k  55c to 70c
I am able to keep my temps below 70c all winter with this, in the summer, it can hit 75c, so I usually drop it to 1920x1080, as I freak when I hit 75c, though its rated for 84c
 
Fans custom set to 70%

Arma 3
Star Wars Squadron
Fallout 76
Assassin Creed series
GTA 5
Diablo 3
are the type of games I play.
 
I also connect my Oculus Quest 2 to my pc some times.
 
Am I at risk of killing my GPU sooner or can I still hope to get another 2 years like this?  Card was bought in 2017

I think you can last for another year without worries. 

Awesome, I have had no issues so far, just worried if I should remove the 4k to extend the life, but hoping prices of the 4080 will be normal or the 3080 will drop when 4080 is out

1080 Ti was such an awesome card! I am still rocking on two EVGA FEs with EK waterblocks -- in SLI they run max out all the games I care about on 3440x1400 monitor. VR was the only reason I joined the 3080 Ti and 3090 queues - to run my 4K headset (HP Reverb G2, 2160x2160x2) with a single powerful card. SLI is not supported in VR, and while Half Life Alyx still runs well on High on a single 1080 Ti, my FPS is capped at 45 fps.
