First off, I'm happy that the FTW3 got the best results on Tech Jesus' live stream today (GamersNexus is the best). I know today has been stressful for you all at EVGA today, but hey something good still happened today. I still think you all are a good company that has their customer's back, and that y'all just kind of got the short end of the stick on launch today and that it wasn't your fault. There were a lot of bots out today, and Nvidia most likely didn't give y'all enough stock to work with on top of everything (and idk what kind of guidelines y'all have to work with put in place by Nvidia this time around). Y'all were put between a rock and a hard place, and I just wanted y'all to know that y'all still make quality products and today was just a bump in the road. Y'all have been there for me in the past (just became a member a month ago) and worked with me when I was wanting to return a 2070 super I had recently ordered. Things are tough for everyone right now including myself during this COVID stuff, and I just wanted to let y'all know that there was still something good that came from today. Thanks and keep doing what y'all do. 

I've had my eyes on the 3090 from the get go, so whether I get it on launch, or later on, I'll be fine lol. Also would be cool to see what AMD has around the corner too! Its going to be an interesting Fall

to be fair ftw3 was the only flagship card at tech jesus stream. Need to compare with Asus Strix OC, MSI Gaming X Trio and Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme.

FTW3 is the only one with extra temp sensors, already has plenty of VRMs and cooling seems to be a non issue since the high power target seems to come mainly from the GDDR6x and the cut down chip is quite big. So FTW3 was the right choice anyway for me, especially with step up if a 20 gb version comes soon.
So only thing limiting the FTW3 is the already quite high 420w power target, not sure if I even want to produce more juice.
Hope to find 500 -1000w bios soon though since I like maxing out the voltage, not to say that my 750w bequiet straight power platinum could handle that

I believe it was FTW Ultra. When he was on the phone with Jacob, Jacob said their target range is different due to EVGA's base clock is higher. So 110% will be higher than 120% for Gigabyte. 

They 100% have their customers' backs, and thats why Im trying to stay with them if I can. They were nice enough to replace my broken 980ti with a 1080 so many years back, and thanks to them my last real card purchase was in 2015.

How was today in any way stressful for EVGA? They've made zero headway in fixing their terrible web store over all of these years. The only one's stressed were consumers. 

Well to be fair, Evga is stress because it is their job. But if we are stress as consumers because we couldn't of buy a "want", we need to re-evaluate ourselves as a society. And before you comeback with an attack, this is not an indictment against you, but this is for everyone in general. I was disappointed that Sony made a mess of ps5 launch and because of that I couldn't get one for the kids and myself. I will probably get disappointed when I try to for a 3090 next week lol. But you know what, I'll go play with my 2080ti and go take a jog and spend time with the dogs. Life move on, and I know I will eventually get what I want. But no need to stress over things like this. There is more beauty to life, so go enjoy it!

rumor has it that the 3090s will OC better

I think that might the selling point of 3090s and give it some space between them and the 3080s performance wise overall. But who knows, all speculation at this point. Hopefully I can test it out first hands next week if I can get a 3090 ftw or Strix and put under water.

According to a Jacobs twitter, it is a FTW3 Ultra.
 
I'm still wondering the actual difference between a FTW3 and FTW3 Ultra. Everybody says it's just a higher factory OC, but why does that matter, if the GPU clocks itself anyways? It's gotta be something to do with the chip, how do they determine which chip goes to a what box?

The entire point of GN's oc test was to bin them to see which had a higher chance to perform under LN2. Evga won. So I'm just gonna take it as "Evga is king woooo" and then cover my ears and go lalalalla.

I have really changed my mind and really want the FTW.. The problem is that putting your eggs in all one basket usually results in failure.. I want it, but pretty sure its not going to happen.. And the fact that its the only Step Up in the Step up program means its going to be even harder to get.  Since a lot of people bought the 2080 Supers and 2070 Supers just to get into the Step Up Cue.

tbf if he just runs them stock on LN2, okay... otherwise he should have used the voltage/frequency curve and test which chip can run the max frequency at given voltage, which he did not do... so I would not call that binning the best card for ln2 oc....

he just pressed the clock offset button and the card with the highest power limit won... that was not binning... we just saw which card performs best out of the box and since FTW3 was the only top dog of the 3 brands it was an easy win for evga....

I mean the MSI Gaming X Trio was not better than the Asus TUF in other reviews, so it is good that EVGA FTW3 beats it, that was well done then.

We will know if a day or three.  Hopefully just one day.  But, yes, I am hoping against hope that the website is "enhanced".
