What is up with the prices on the EU EVGA store? they don't include VAT, which in the UK is 20%.

That means that the cheapest XC3 version costs almost as much as some sites are selling the FTW3 Ultra for??

I assume the prices have only recently shown on the site as I've been checking often.

Is that really the price of EVGA cards? I had a cancelled order on amazon for £769 before they took them off due to 0 stock. that would be 838 euros including tax

EDIT: Pre-tax prices have been adjusted, cost including tax is now correct I believe

Where did you see that ? As far as I know, Jacob said on Twitter like days ago they were fixing the VAT issues, and 2 or 3 hours ago he said " prices are up now " but I didn't see any mention of prices being the wrong ones and being adjusted shortly, at least on Twitter :/

I mean if the price I see right now for the EVGA FTW3 ultra (840 euro/£770) includes 20% VAT, that's literally on point with the amazon order I placed before ti got canceled.

Well, right now all prices exclude VAT, so the final price would be very high (unless fixed shortly)

Based on US prices, I'd say (and hope) that this price indeed includes the 21% Netherland VAT. Because in US Store, price for the FTW3 Ultra is 810$, if you add 21% of VAT, it climbs up to 980$, which converted to euros gives you roughly 840€. So from adding VAT + currency conversion point of view, it would make sense that it DOES include the VAT already. Otherwise prices for the FTW3 Ultra would get up to around 1000€ if 840€ really is the VAT excluded price, which is even more than many retailers I've seen. And considering in the EVGA US Store they still sell at MSRP, I don't see why they would increase the price in the EU Store, at least not to that extent.

Looking at the variety of leaked price points across partners and 3rd party sellers; they must include taxes/VAT. Otherwise the billing situation is nuts.

Since the issue leading to the TBD prices was that the VAT was double paid for some people, if I had to guess about the situation, I'd say they managed to fix the double VAT issue hence would explain why the prices are not TBD anymore, and now they "only" need to fix the prices to the right amount with VAT excluded. That would be my guess (and hope).

Because I assume their price system is the simplest, meaning VAT free then adding the VAT of the needed country, instead of having a price already including a % VAT that's not the same throughout the EU (and therefore the system would need to do more calculations to the price, even if at light speed that still would be more to code for a developer than the first mentioned system.)

Well, maybe when you add to cart it doesn't add anymore VAT (despite saying otherwise with the text, unless to adjust to higher or lower VAT %) and because it was the quickest fix they could do and had hard time trying to pass it on full excluded VAT or changing price, I don't know what else to say except that I don't know why they would give back the option if it wasn't fixed in some ways, or if maybe there was stock on the way and that they would tell people to buy and refund the money that was above the desired EU MSRP. Maybe the fix was on the payment system and the product page isn't redacted yet.

Maybe we'll get more infos soon (hopefully) about that.

So basically, nothing changed since Thursday, just the prices went to TBD and now back to double VAT. These prices should include tax, as the FE at 699.99 EUR includes tax in the nvidia site.
Maybe it's just the front end that needs fixing and the prices do include VAT and it's just the word "exc" that needs changing to "inc". Yeah i know, naive :)

Salty after selling my RTX 2080 thinking i'd be able to buy a 3080 before 2021 and spend the EVGA bucks from folding to help with the upgrade... Joke's on me

That's my idea like I said above. I don't know how things are managed but if the payments options are separated from the product pages (i.e two jobs instead of being one) it's possible that like I said, payment has been fixed and only the product page itself needs adjusting. Whether it's the price itself or the VAT excluded text. Because, unless stock is coming very very soon and they couldn't finish fixing it, I don't know why they would put up wrong prices with broken VAT when on cart / processing payment.

As far as I can see the whole reasoning behind excluding VAT is that by having an EU store rather than country specific, they need to somehow include varying VAT prices in the same product pages. So it can't be final that prices show as including VAT. It could be that for now, it shows VAT for a specific country, but I doubt it'll stay like this. I'm guessing prices still need to be fixed on the store pages.

Idk about other countries but here in France we have a dedicated store and the prices are still exc. VAT

edit : or maybe the "fr" in "fr.evga.com" just stand for the language

As far as I understand, it's just the language changing yeah, because it still seems there are many redirect to either EU store or just US. And after looking at shipping policies it states the warehouses are in the Netherlands where it's then sent to any EU country (including France). Germany also as an EVGA site so i'm guessing it's because there's a lot of french and german people compared to other countries that either speak natively english like Great Britain / Sweden or just don't have as many people buying therefore it would be time and money spent for not much investiment. At least that's the way I see it.

Especially since you can just Google Translate pretty much anything except images and even now you can use screen captures to translate text on images.

Also if TAX is payed in 1 EU country its apply to other EU (no double taxing) so why they cant add lowest TAX in EU and that is it. Or they dont ship from EU warehouses? Then it should be non tax price on store plus in invoice each country VAT and shipping cost. I think tomorrow im gona buy from USA (if i can) store and pay VAT tax  it will be more cheaper.

    1) I'm not even sure you can order on the US Store and be delivered in the EU
    2) EU prices are most likely just the wrong ones, not the real ones, and 840€ for the FTW3 Ultra would be with 21% VAT. It's just that there's so much for them to do (like be sure websites don't crash when items in store, reviewing orders, etc) that they aren't able to do all at once and since US got stocks before EU they were / are trying to fix it asap so they can then fix also EU store when stocks are about to come.

Edit : There's two ways to look at it, if prices are wrong. Either the price is indeed with 21% VAT and they then adjust to whatever % your country is, or they lower the price to the real one without VAT and just add whatever VAT % is in your country.

This is the key point. The prices on the store have to be wrong. It's only how it's wrong: Have they not fixed the issue at all, and they still just have to lower the price to exclude VAT and add it back country-specific? Or have they just taken some random VAT and for now, once you add to cart, it takes the correct VAT amount?

I'd bet on the first one since the latter is a bit of a daft solution imo. But anyways until cards are actually in stock and people place orders for them, we won't know.

Honestly considering their good customer support I'll take it with double VAT and ask a partial refund deducting the excess of VAT. If I can manage to get the card bought. Which shouldn't be that hard though considering that most of the features and load is on the US Server and I'd think they would have another one dedicated to EU since EU and US Stores don't appear to be lagging at the same time.

I don't even care about the prices anymore, I just want the eu site to have stock, so frustrating how the US gets chance after chance to have a go at trying to buy a card and EU gets ignored

just so you know, i applied for step up (2080s > 3080 ftw3 ultra)

    i paid 718€ (french vat - 20%) on amazon for my 2080s,
the step up cost is 131,04€ (20% vat - including the shipping which is 15,99€ alone)

so... 3080 ftw ultra cost 833,05 with french 20% vat

just so you know, i applied for step up (2080s > 3080 ftw3 ultra)

    i paid 718€ (french vat - 20%) on amazon for my 2080s,
the step up cost is 131,04€ (20% vat - including the shipping which is 15,99€ alone)

so... 3080 ftw ultra cost 833,05 with french 20% vat

Thanks for the info ! That indeed should resolve any fear we could have as consumers, and now we just need prices fixed so we can give our money to our beloved EVGA :P

It seems prices on the EVGA EU site have been adjusted to Exc VAT amounts some time today.  prices look to be correct when tax is added.

Now to hope for some restocks!
