So,
This one is for You Gabrielle. The 10 year employee who was zero help. Adam and Adam the EVGA supervisor.

EVGA
Let me preface this by saying.... If you don't want to do something, don't offer it in the first place. Its not about the $$. Its about your word.

After waiting, as all of you have...for a GPU On a list since January. I get the notification i can buy a card. I go to purchase.

I was told you can use the discount from Elite Status if you Registered before July 1st. I did and I am still in my 90 days. I put my 5% code in. I was told I can also use the associates code for 3%. I used eNewt, who has been so helpful.

I submitted my order and sure as you guess ...i get a receipt with the 5% Elite code not on it... It showed when I submitted.

I call customer service. They tell me it cant be changed. In 2021 and you can't adjust an order?

Should I be buying Tech from a company that cant do an accounting correction?

Gabriel, the 10 year employee tells me to reply to my notice to purchase and IT will fix it.

I do this.

IT department conveniently responds after my notice of order shipment and then emails me. Im told to cancle my order and reply so he can reissue the shopping window and I can try again, but if its shipped... nothing can be done. It didn't work the first time, why now? Doesn't matter...shipped.

I call Customer care again. What luck!
I get Gabriel the 10 year employee who could have sent a note to IT at 9am before the card shipped, but mentioned none of this.

Gabriel proceeds to blame me. All im doing is ordering your product.

Supervisor call... Offerd the credit in EVGA bucks. They cant adjust a reciept. I thank Adam for his time.

I cant help but feel taken advantage of, lied to.. mislead and then blamed for trying to have an offer honored.

Bad customer service. Poor operations.
Until this, I had a higher opinion of EVGA.

To EVGA.

I get these cards are hard to come by. Thats no excuse to make empty promises.
Well see how. long before deleted.

Starting to think the ray tracing is not worth this.

Anyhow, if you suffered my read.... Take heed. This is shady stuff.

The notification purchasing was a bit different than normal purchasing, which is why I am "only guessing" that the order can't be adjusted after the fact. They process immediately and typically orders can only be adjusted before processing.
Again just a guess, not taking their side over yours and it sucks in the moment if it feels like you were taken advantage of, I am just suggesting maybe it isn't that cut and dry.
Most likely a very case-specific situation that wasn't explicitly covered with support.

I wouldn't let it set and bother you much. Make the decision in yourself if you believe you were purposefully manipulated or not and then you can feel good with you decision moving forward if you ever purchase from EVGA again. Make peace with it one way or another.

    I hear you.

The whole thing just leaves a bad taste.

No reason for it and good customer care empowers their employees to fix it. They dont handcuff them... leaving them to fight the customer for the companies failings.

I went against my better judgement as I have a 6800xt by ASRock.... already and like it. No I don't work for ASRock.

As those on here told me... If you like eye candy...3080 is the one.

    Happy to get one...

Would have had better things to say if i wasn't blamed for what EVGA told me to do.

Im just trying to buy their product. Did you have to make me feel bad in the process?

No room for that in a normal market and even if their was... you're supposed to aspire to not be that person. That company.

    Integrity is rare.

Is there an EVGA mod who can offer some insight?

While the EVGA bux are better than nothing... The experience speaks for itself and authentic.

Perhaps validate this as standard practice?

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Maybe suggest they train customer care not to blame the customer and go the extra mile?

I see room for improvement in the process.

Im not trying to burn it down.

Perhaps they can get Gabriel trained on in company interdepartmental emails on behalf of customers?

Id pay an extra 69 bux to help train people so no other poor human has this happen.

I’m sensing this is either a one-off or maybe someone at EVGA was having a bad day, namely the person you mentioned. I’ve been buying EVGA products for a decade, and any time I’ve had to go through customer service I’ve been taken care of. EVGA is usually known for excellent customer service. Now, I’m not trying to blindly defend the company because I like its products. Rather, I’m just offering a different perspective. Also, EVGA’s website has been on the fritz for months. Sometimes, I can’t even access the main site or the any of the forums. Other times, everything but pictures will load. Whose fault is that? I couldn’t say. But, with that in mind, your checkout process was probably glitched, unfortunately, and not an issue that arises all that often if at all, so they may not have known how to handle it on the spot. Purchase debacle aside, hopefully you’ll get to enjoy the card soon and for however long you plan to keep it.

I really want to be wowed. Lets see if the graphics experience gets that done.

I can get past the coupon. EVGA has stood behind their products, bar none...and that doesn't go unnoticed by me.

What did you buy? I just got the 3090 ftw3 ultra a week ago, and have been floored with the performance, but I came from a Maxwell Titan X.

I got a 3080 TI 3967 FTW. Gave up waiting on the 3080 FTW I signed up for in January. Trying to keep my passion within reason on price...and 1399 is very far off. LoL

The 3080 Ti 3967 is the best card I’ve had to date. I’m sure the 3080 3897 I ordered today will be as much fun in my secondary build. I hear you on waiting though. Both cards I got through the Newegg shuffle. If I hadn’t gotten lucky there, I’d still be in the queue.

I have a 6800xt that i grabbed months back that I like, but its ray tracing leaves room to improve. The 3080 TI was what I was shooting for when I settled....so I hope its worth it.

If you think that’s bad, imagine people getting 40% off wheel coupons only for them to expire before they get notified 😂

Almost as bad of those of us who already had elite status from buying cards in the past yet don't even get a chance at any discount, spinning a wheel or not.

Im sure someone on the site touches the company in some way. At the very least, they may have closer ties and more knowledge.

EVGA would be missing a lot of customer data by not seeing what customers say...think and want.

I had a 20% coupon expire 2 weeks before notification for my 3080ti.
Tried to use the day before expiration on the hybrid kit and it showed expiration.
Customer service was no help, never even got a reply.

You would think that with everything going on with the shortages that they would extend the expiration dates.
But hey that's my situation... many other members never even got a coupon at all.

It is my understanding that you can use the wheel coupon for anything else, including power supply and keyboard. It is NOT limited to GPU only. I don't see that being a meaningless gesture at all.

Be happy that EVGA is the only company that has a queue system that allows us to get GPU in this tight market. Be happier that EVGA is that only company that gives us a discount for using an Associate Code. The spin wheel coupon is cherry on top. Us Elite Members prior to the spin wheel don't even get a coupon, despite being Elite since the start of the Elite program.

    Enjoy the card!

    1. EVGA is not the only one in the US to have a queue system, just an implementation this way... maybe. at best.
    2. EU EVGA doesn't get discounts. At all. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It was 5% of the Associate Code, so $70 if it is the 3080 ti FTW Ultra.

    Hello,

There is clearly a misunderstanding. When we tell you to reply to your notification email, this is to resolve any issue with the purchase link, not a coupon code. If this was stated by Gabriel that they would resolve your coupon code issue, this was a mistake on his behalf. However, your product was purchased using PayPal, which removes our ability to make any small adjustments to an order after it has been placed. Any PayPal order with a mistake or coupon code that doesn't go through would need to be canceled and remade using a new link by replying to the notification email that you received. I apologize for your inconvenience and hope this sheds more light on the situation. As always, you are welcome to call in to us so we can work with you on this further.

    -Anthony

tbh, is lucky to get the notify, I am not sure why you are so upset about buying it at MSRP with a discount. what about others still in the queue since last year and the code even expired. anyway grats on your card.
