Just a quickie, the screws used to mount the 2 m.2 nvme drives under the PCI ex slots, what driver is
used for these screws, and how to aquire one? i thought it was phillips, but none of the many sizes i have seem to
snug in the screw.

I've been using this kit for around 7 years and it works great for computer teardowns with odd/small screws.

Edit: My kit is magnetic, but it looks like the newer version might not be? Edit: I forgot that I had added a stack of small neodymium magnets (like these) under the twisty part of the handle (you can just pull off the black bit and add a stack - it works extremely well).

I haven't seen the Dark screw but most M.2 screws I have seen have just been a philips and I have just used an eye glass screw driver I had to tighten them.

Sweet, I have those at work. So if the box is unplugged for awhile, and i get the cmos error in x299 UEFI screen, then
    its the battery?

Have a question: Where do the M2 Thermal pads need to be placed?
Can't find instructions in the manual.

    Thanks

Page 40, step 4, in your mobo manual says "add one thermal pad – included with the X299 Dark accessories – to the outlined area below"..Also, the nameplate sticker on top of some SSDs are metallic and act as a heat sink/heat spreader.
