Sorry if there is a thread with this but i have a question with bios setting for the CLC 240 on my Asrock X370 Taichi (AMD) Motherboard.  I have one cable plugged into my CPU_OPT/W_Pump Switch and the other plugged into USB 2.0.  USB 2.0 software installed correct but i was unable to see CPU temperatures (Everything else seems functional in Flow Control); however, at this point fan control is not working with a custom fan curve as it does not read the CPU temp.  In the bios i have options to set it to W_Pump or CPU OPT and then options to set to DC Mode or PWM mode.  Which setting should i use in the bios and there is anything additional i need to do to get the software working correctly?

Thanks,

Lance

The software is likely not able to read the CPU temperature as it’s missing something. What it is, though, I couldn’t tell you.

I would run the pump in PWM mode, and make sure that it’s reporting the speed in the BIOS. Monitor your temperatures with something like HWiNFO and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the reply but isn't PWM mode for 4 pin?  This appears to be one 3 pin connection for both the fans and the pump combined.  I made changes to CPU_OPT and W_Pump (Both in DC Mode and Both in PWM mode) with setting to Full speed.  Nothing seemed to change no matter what i changed.  The bios reports the pump at 1200 RPM no matter what i do and the program reports around 2800 to 2900 RPM no mater what changes i make.  Disabled all my background programs and disabled windows defender.  Deleted existing folders and reinstalled the program as administrator but still no CPU temperature available.  Either i am doing something wrong or the program is just broken but i can't imagine it would be broken since it has gone through so many revisions.

Thanks,

It isn’t necessarily broken, it just doesn’t work with your particular board and the way that it fetches the temperature.

As it’s a 3-pin, set it to DC rather than PWM. Sorry, I didn’t know it was 3-pin.

Thanks, that is a bummer would have been nice to set a fan curve.  Guess i will just set the fans at around 25 percent and see how it runs.  Maybe i will just connect the fans directly to my fan controller and just nuke the program.

I can’t tell you as I have no experience with that board, but you might still be able to control the speed based purely on voltage. I know I can do that with some of my boards. :)
