Hi all,

I have the EVGA B5 850 PSU and have the Eco mode enabled. Even when I browsing the web, its fan is spinning up every couple of minutes for a minute or so. The ambient temp is at 21 degrees.

Shouldn't it be completely silent with Eco mode? How is the PSU reaching 50 degrees without any load?

Specs: Intel Core i5 10600k and no GPU (using the integrated one for now).

Thanks!

    Hi Bittabola,

This could be happening if the PSU is installed upside down in the case.  It may not be getting enough airflow, and the components are getting a bit warmer.  However, it could still need the fan to cool the 850 B5, even at idle.

I checked again, the case is installed fan down, aligned with the case.
