I am on my 6th rma, and hoping this one will be good.

Your 6th card!?!?! That doesn't fill me with confidence.
I honestly think if that were the case for me, i'd sell the RMA and get a vega 64 or something because i'd be feeling pretty salty torward evga and nvidia haha. 

Jokes aside, that sucks dude. For what exact reason are you on the 6th?

I'd be ok with a direct replacement  -  for me like my needs I would prefer another 980ti hybrid over any 10 series  - 900 cards has far better overall support of thing I use  where a 10 series don't support at all  .
 
to be honest  if I hasd to rma my hybrid  this is what I want to see as a rreplacement  .    I guess that's to each his own  for there needs and use

ya, I was skeptical   getting mine     seeing a lot of complaints  on it  but knock on wood I got a pretty good card  . like guys claiming all that with the pump noise and fan noise and all   I don't see any of that    runs nice and cool . so far the highest temp I ever got was 48c  and that was when I was playing around on the radiator mounting position .  the way I found the best  dropped mine temp to now like 45 -43c

theres a few old posts here on that  where I tried to help with showing that  [???]   to each his own  on what they find best  . 
 
one thing I did seem to learn is  I think I would buy a air card that's under the hybrids kit  compatibility list  .   so many seemed to get a screw job on factory hybrids and there rma's   when the punp was not seemingly right   [dig up old posts here on a hybrid issues ]
 
if you get a great card  and the pump fails  you rma the whole card and may not get a new or better card back   so I figured if you do the kit then you keep your great card slap the air cooler back on it and RMA just the pump unit   and if that fails to satisfy  , well you still got your great card on air .
 
overall I really like this hybrid 980ti  I got     if it remains a solid long lasting card  I'm happy  [knock on wood ] ... so far so good.

you know dave , I could of as easy picked a MSI card as well,  but this go round I did like the hybrid 980 ti offered and it's price at the time  was  411 +  like a 30 rebate  so 380 in all for a at the time was a round a 700 buck card  [I never got around to sending in , and shows how cheaper theses cards could be selling for  ]    . if it was down to a air card  and price I could of just as well bought a MSi  . 
 
anymore  as far as the cards go  evga is just among the average joe's   .  maybe a tad better for a RMA / warrantee   services if approved    and can get good or bad satisfaction from who ever  just as well  .
 
[I will say I don't look hard at asus or gigabyte cards , I tend to try to avoid them ]     in the end evga just had what I wanted at a price   that's all ..
 
if you look back at some threads here like on these  hybrids   you can see I dont all ways defend evga . I seen some funny business
 
like puddles in this is why I joined  I seen the same things  said around  , tell a guy this  and another that   or the same guy  2 different things  from 2 different evga techs   on the same issue ??? [ the run a round / the brush off ]
