haha sorry I sometimes forget the dates ! ..

So you believe he passed away or left the forum for good 2016? :)  I hate when people ask and troubleshoot then leaving without telling an potential solution ..

I am also considering an RMA have tried everything .. I have applied for RMA and got shipping label etc..

Only thing I asked the company about is that I will get a replacement and not a refund?  The card in Europe and Germany has gone up by 130 euro! more than a 100 dollars! ..

So then should defiantly send replacement and not refund so i can buy again at much higher price.. they have not answered 2-3 mails 1.5 week.. :?

Ohhh and yes the thermal pad on chokes suddenly changed by EKWB and even with the words "too reduce coile whine?"  BS.. I can vouch for that....

Well today I just took everything apart.. Reseated the Wblock, new perfect cut thermal pads... Got rid of the coil thermal pads (had to try as my kit came WITH the ekstra pads) and everything got back together better than ever and perfect contact etc.
Exactly same results (coil whine no more, no less than before) and performance level (ulta) 2100-2115 mhz steady on GPU and +1000 mem.

But that thermal pads choke stunt from EKWB matters nothing .. they usually don't cool in past video cards and is not needed cool 2080 ti either.. actually the block pcb seems to  mate better without.

Have you seen this FAQ ID # 59535

explains it in very basic way

its a short read, but this part may help you:

(excerpt) bold added for clarity

This vibration is similar to running a damp finger around the rim of a wine glass. Every inductor in every electronic device has some coil whine, but the vast majority of inductors whine well outside the hearing range of humans. On occasion, an inductor coil vibrates at a frequency in the range our ear can detect.

This is particularly common if your card is processing 3D frames at a high rate, 100 FPS+. Coil whine can be particularly prevalent when in a game menu and no FPS cap or V-sync is enabled. You may notice greatly reduced coil when when enabling V-sync as a result.

Eh no, but thanks .... However I have exhausted all "try this tricks" it is amazing how wide and different they are... but I have never personally believed it..

I have tried what I find logical, heat issue, pressure issue on MOSFET, general poor contact pcb and block etc.  And a brand new Corsair RM1000W single rail .. All kinds of BIOS power settings...   Its not that I dont believe what people write. But I think they have different issues and solutions they are solving eventually but dont really know the exact issue or solution... therefor a lot of unverified certain solutions and suggestions out there!!!

Also I must admit I dont have a EVGA card but 2080 ti FE.. I came acidentlly in here a month ago with my own coil whine.. and ended with being a lot of active and like the people and staff...  I will consider EVGA next time for sure! ;)

But its a unsolved mystery the coil whine.. even not when the coils are solid and its actually the MOSFET making the sound.. that means we are not come one step closer hahah.. new component - no current solution

thanks

Well you are properly right ! But for me its not normal? I never had this issue before, neither on my 1080 GTX Strix or SLI setup etc.

This is first time and then on a so pricey card where expectations are high..  Anyways even if my replacement card is the same I would not been able to live with myself if I dident try all options and at least another FE card.. But MAYBE it dosent suffer from it! :D   I can understand a lot of people have this issue but 10x more dont..  and that must be normal..

The above video from Buildzoid just came out. He talks about why they whine, which coils inductors are more likely to whine than others, and theories to reduce their whine. I hope he posts a follow-up video where he actually experiments with quieting them.

Ok? Who are you and what's up? Is this your 2-year update? Or are you commenting on something specific more recent? If it was bad 2 years ago, why didn't you RMA it when you had the chance (assuming your warranty is now expired)?

I got an email last month and forgot and just remembered, my previous post before that stated I lost a factory heat sink screw when I converted to liquid cooling which was why I could not RMA it.
