Hi all.. just looking for some recommendations or advice. My parents PC is an old build of mine. Currently the storage in it is a WD Black 1TB 7,200 rpm and I want to switch it out with a SSD but I know it’s an old mobo that may have compatibility issues.
Anybody using a SSD with this mobo? That they can recommend?

That board has 4 SATA2 ports, should work fine with any modern SATA SSD. I would suggest a budget SSD as the SATA 2 interface will max at 300 MB/s which pretty much any SSD can do.

So I’m only limited when using Sata 2 but compatibility isn’t an issue necessarily.. I wasn’t sure about that. Thank you. My newer mobo in my current rig has sata 3 ports so I haven’t had to be concerned with Sata 2/Sata 3 compatibility when I purchased my own SSD’s

I have a 780i using an SSD, the drive boots up and run fine but Windows doesn't realize that its a SSD.  Treats it like it was a regular hard drive.  It runs fast like a SSD should, but I can't use any of the software that comes it to optimize the drive.
