I was able to grab the 3080 Ti XC3 Ultra Gaming (12G-P5-3955-KR) with a DIY bundle and I've been wondering how much I'm missing out on by not having the 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming (12G-P5-3967-KR) in terms of performance.  The difference in boost clock doesn't seem like a big deal, but I am worried that the higher power target and limit of the FTW3 card will make a big difference.  Does anyone have some benchmarks that compare the actual performance of these two cards?
 
My PC build has been delayed due to some other components being damaged in shipping.  With today's availability of the 3080 Ti FTW3 card without a bundle I am tempted to try to sell the XC3 Ultra and buy the FTW3.  Is this just silly? Thoughts?

    the FTW3 are worth it when you stay on air..... otherwise if you watercool the XC3 , it'd be great

    You're losing out on probably single digit percentage performance differences. I doubt anyone has bothered to spend time writing up a comparison between these cards because it would be very small.

    I posted a similar question for the standard 3080 10gb hydro versions yesterday. Real world difference won't be much at all. Still the FTW3 does have a higher max power bios, slightly higher stock base clock and more temperature sensors. Is it worth the hassle to upgrade? That is up to you. I bought the Hyrdro XC3 last month and bought the Hydro FTW3 yesterday when it became available. I am going to swap them out but only because I want to know I have the best 3080 available. I know the difference will be minor but for me it is worth the hassle.

    I was considering staying on air with a possible move to AIO cooling in the future -- I certainly do not plan on building a custom loop.

    Please follow-up with some benchmark results from your swap. I expect the higher max power will have a more significant impact on water-cooled cards than air.
     
    The hassle of selling the XC3 is mostly what I want to avoid - it would be great if I could step-up to the 3080 Ti FTW3, but the only option for a 3080 Ti step-up is a 3090.  Based upon the responses it seems I'll probably get more return-on-hassle from spending the extra $100-ish on the EVGA HYBRID Kit than flipping the XC3 and buying the FTW3.
     
    Is there some information on the tubing length of the HYBRID kits that I'm overlooking?  doesn't seem to provide details under the specs and a quick glance at the manual () didn't seem to have it.

    I will try to remember to post my results here. I am not expecting a huge difference if any at all. Just because the bios allows a higher power limit doesn't mean the card will actually perform better. Who knows. Maybe it will. Time will tell.

    Count me in as someone very interested in the results of your comparison. I have an xc3 ultra, but continually wonder if I should get an ftw3 instead.

    Set an OC on your card, run the CyberPunk (or other common game) benchmark, then post your results. Those with the FTW3 can do the same and then compare the results. The extra 100w power limit probably translates to 5-10% performance improvement. Personally, I think the FTW3 is well worth the extra expense. Although my 3080ti ftw3 only beats my 3080 12gb ftw3 by 5-20fps in most games.

    Someone please post some of those benchmarks. I noticed on my new 3080 Ti Ftw3 vs a standard 3080 I have in another machine about 30 fps difference playing Halo Infinite at 2K ultra settings. Subjective though I dont recall the 3080 going over 100 fps.

    I'm planning on doing the same coming from custom cooling of almost 10 years.  It's fun if you want to do it, have the funds and of course, patience.
     
    FTW3s are beefier GPUs where as XC3s are more of a standard GPU.  Pick your poison but either way, can't go wrong with either.
