from like 6:01:39 to like 6:26:20. over 20 mins of movement in one drop for a msrp priced card is wild.

No difference besides pricing. If putting it on yourself keep the stock cooler/backplate or you will be sorry if you need to RMA at some point.

Well, if you bought the Hybrid to begin with it's something like + $69 over the cost of the standard air-cooled (talking about the 3080ti FTW Ultra here). But if you want to buy the Hybrid kit to upgrade your GPU, then it's about $119 for the kit and you have to do the labor yourself. BUT you then still have the air cooler, in case you want it for some reason. Also makes it harder in case you need to RMA because you'd have to put the original air cooler back on. That said, I've seen reports that the hybrid cooler makes a huge difference in temps on these Ampere chips. (Additional comments on this point are welcome, please!)

Just a FYI re your 3897 -KR registration, it looks like you opted out of the -KL switchover? If that is the case, you may be much farther away than you expect. And, if you are still in the -KR queue, I doubt there will be many (read: any) drops to that queue in the near term. I am sorry I don't have better news with respect to the 3897-KR queue.
