Any EVGA GeForce GTX Titan X SC Graphics Card = NOT APPLICABLE

ARRGHHH
You'd think the most expensive of the 900 series would apply.

Not to mention the 2080ti isn't even on the list for the upgrade options...

"Send in your card. Once verified, we will send back the EVGA GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics card."

That's pretty stupid considering my card is still in my gaming rig!

Wow. What a waste of time. And they want you to send back your old card before shipping the new one. So you are without a graphics card for what, a week? Two weeks?

Nice.

Also, $75 for a 970? I bet it would sell for $100 in 90 seconds on most venues.

What a waste of time.

The discounts are pretty small, but it looks like the base price of the units is less than retail. For example a 2080 XC ultra is $669 - your discount plus tax. Everywhere else I find it for $750.

I don't see any special promotion upgrade either. Followed thru the email, which linked to site but no sale items, no upgrade terms, just ordinary prices and/or sale prices posted previously. Went into Products pages for 20s, but had the same result as following the link, nothing new.

Hard pass EVGA.
Clear attempt at clearing overstock, with a double bait and switch email, with a nothing discount.  Now if I could combine cards for a bigger discount? Maybe.  Otherwise, paaaaaassss.

yeah, the marketing department went a little overboard when they said "save hundreds", since they don't offer a trade in option worth multiple hundreds.  I'm very disappointed.

Well I want a 2080 Ti so I'm out but if I was going to go for a 2080, $699 for the FTW3 Ultra Gaming card that can't be found less than $825 elsewhere, including on EVGA's own site, would be a pretty decent deal.

But if I'm going to upgrade, its going to be to a 2080 Ti.

For giggles decided to see if pricing on 980tis changed, and EVGA will see you refurb ones for 300+ still(yes a couple have an instant rebate right now for 100 to make them 199). So "credit" someone 175 for theirs and make sure its not beat up and works and resell as a refurb for 250+.

Considering most of your guys card are out of warranty, getting anything for from the manufacturer is fair. I don't see other companies offering nothing but a "sorry, beat it" for your warranty expired 700 or 900 series.

lol @ complaints about sending it in. Thats how a Step Up works too.

My excitement plummeted when I saw what they were offering.
Not sure why anyone would do this. Not much of a deal.

EVGA used to do advanced exchange on Step Up... I would have been okay with that.

But most of us that have been holding off upgrading are waiting for the 2080 Ti to be a bit more reasonable I bet. So yeah, not going to be much interest in this sale.

Re: EVGA 20th Anniversary Upgrade Special! - Coming Soon 2019/06/26 11:31:31 (permalink)
I had intended on keeping my 980 ti as 2nd build card, and wait for the next generation of cards due to the high prices, but was intrigued by the promo.  $150 is not a huge discount, when comparing a $1,200+ card, and  going from a promise of 12 months to 3 month financing seems a bit... off.

It's hard to blame EVGA for this though.  Nvidia has specifically priced these cards to really tie the hands of the board partners when it comes to deals, promos, and sales.  I love EVGA, and will continue to buy their products, but I'll continue to wait, likely for the 3k series (or whatever number scheme is used next).

I understand that Nvidia doesn't have anything to compete with it, but this is really short sited.  AMD and now Microsoft will eventually challenge them.  Free Sync will be more widely adopted, and rather then having us locked up in the current generation of cards, were waiting for pricing and are now open to being poached.

If Nvidia isn't carefull, they are going to open up their fans and supporters to alternatives.  I hope the short term high prices are worth it.

Erm, am I missing something? I've got an EVGA 780Ti Classified Kingpin... $100 off isn't exactly the fantastic savings that EVGA purported it would be.

From the email:

"This limited time offer will allow you to trade in your card and get a brand new EVGA GeForce RTX 20-Series card at a significant minuscule discount [...]"

Fixed.

Just reviewed the modified link. GOT TO BE KIDDING. Besides low, still using mine as well. So to screw myself with the low ball credit, I have to take down both computers, mail in the cards and wait for return shipping beforre I can use the computers again.

NOT TODAY.

The only reason I would do this is the last time I tried to sell a card on ebay the guy scammed me and tried to overclock it, blew up the card, then returned it to me.  Ebay said "oh well it's a guaranteed return so you gotta pay his return shipping, and give him back all his money, even though he admitted he blew up your card".  A few disputes later and I got my money back but I will never sell on Ebay again.

Pretty underwhelming. I'd maybe make the jump if the financing were 12 months, but I'm not able to eat the cost of a graphics card (minus the meh 980ti discount) over the next 3 on such short notice.

Only $150 for my card? I was expecting closer to $300. Hard pass. All of this hype for nothing except what amount to essentially peanuts.

Speak for your own self. I bought the 10 year extended warranty for my card at launch and still have 6 years minus a few weeks left on my warranty.

Does the upgrade price include the trade in value or is it subtracted from the upgrade price?

Wow EVGA, I am really quite disappointing that you did not include even a single 2080 ti model as an upgrade.

Well kudos to your marketing team, they really got my hopes up. For nothing. Thanks.

That's why you bill the credit card for the cost up front. Its not that difficult.

For the record, I am not really complaining about having to send the card in first although its definitely not ideal, just pointing out that they used to do advanced exchange for Step Up and RMAs alike (I have bought nothing but EVGA since the 7900GT and unfortunately was one of the many who ended up with failed 7900GT cards -- EVGA upgraded me to 7950GT for free with advanced exchange).

LMFAO! Those prices... SUPER HARD PASS! I'll just sell it on eBay. Best part is how many times it says how big the discount is. This was a good laugh thanks EVGA!

Oh man... this is actually really tempting...

Its $699 BEFORE the discount... so a 2080 FTW3 Ultra for $650 after tax here in CO...

Do I really need a 2080 Ti? I'm going to go look at 4K numbers real quick...
