My long past experience with the AMD Phenom II X4 and series, I can honestly say, I never had to change anything other than CPU Voltage & Multiplier to get a rock solid 3.8Ghz(X4 955) which ran for years until replaced. My buddies X4 940 hit a massive wall right at 3.7Ghz, only way to stabilize was give massive voltage which just lead to heat issues, but such is the Silicon Lottery. To this date the AMD Phenom II X4 series was the most fun, and easiest overclocking I've done.
