Uh, well. I think I bricked my EVBOT. Ran the tool following the instructions and got a flashing failed error (think it was error 22). Now the screen is all black. I assume there's no saving it?

Have you tried re-flashing it? I've found these to be pretty hard to kill.

I have had two that died since last year. It would be extremely helpful if EVGA could start manufacturing EVBOTS again, Seeing as they are still including a port for it since it was introduced for the EVGA GTX 580 Classified and X58 Motherboards.

Won't even enter flash mode. Just a black screen and doesn't respond to the 7-10 second hold on the power button. Software does not detect it anymore. Tried different cables and holding reset and power. (not sure that does anything anyway) Think it might be something with the 3090? I may try it on a 780 TI KPE I have too.

If there is just a blue background on the screen with no text, That is exactly what happened to mine when they failed. I tried three GTX 680's and my two RTX 2080 Ti Kingpins without any change on my EVBOTS.

When mine failed to just a blue background screen, I could hold the power button for 10 seconds and get the screen to start flashing and then from the EVBOT software it acted like it presumably loaded the new bios versions, But I could not see any text to determine if any of the bios versions I flashed or was trying to flash was showing on the EVBOT screen.

Because I have one? No good reason. Like reading a real book vs. a e-book. Buttons to push? Like Pavlov's dogs, push a button, get some voltage.

Actually, I don't have/use them anymore, But I plan on using the Classified Tool, IF I ever get an email to purchase a 3090 KP.

I got it working! Found the manual and found the instructions to force the flash mode. Hold down the power button while plugging it in. Got it to flash mode again. Failed again the first time. I then closed AIDA64 (I read somewhere where it could mess with the EVBOT) and tried it again. This time it worked. So back in business. So is the naming supposed to be hint for things to come (like next week)?

So I have the EVBot hooked up how this says to do it, and I get "Cannot find EVBot device" on the flash tool. EVBot is showing flash mode, cord is plugged in to the MB port on the device & in to the port on the Kingpin card. Any idea what else to try? I've tried powering it down & back up, rebooting the system/shutting down the system & booting back up, the flash tool won't detect it. Worth noting, my EVBot hasn't been used since the P55 Classified motherboard I bought it with was still a "new" thing.

Did you try one of the other cables (assuming you still have the set)? Running the flash tool as admin?

I did run as Admin, I'll try the other cable I have though, didn't think of that one.

Welp, no joy, tried both cords, still no device detected with the EVBot either on the regular screen or the flash screen. Guess that's that, sadness - not that using it is better than the Classified Tool, but it woulda been neat to have options. Given that it literally hasn't been used since it was paired with an intel P55 Classified board & GTX 285 Classified card that I had, I'm not surprised. The EVBot in is perfect shape & goes through the menus fine, but it seems like either the cords or bad or my firmware on the device is so dated the Kingpin can't see it.

If want to give it another shot and you think it's the age difference of the EVBot Bios, I have an X79 Dark build with 780 Tis in it (also have a 3090 KPE). Not quite P55 bios old, but closer than a 3090. If you send the EVBot to me I can try and update it in my X79 system and then try the 3090 Update. Then I can send it back to you.

The file name is certainly confusing because of renaming the original 3080ti to 3090 and coming up with a new 3080ti.

To change clocks in the middle of a benchmark run. EVBOT was especially useful in the past on EVGA mobos to crank the CPU freq. during the GPU stage of benchmarks, then drop it down on the fly for the final CPU intensive stage of the benchmark. And it would be useful to change GPU clocks on the fly even between GPU tests. I have 2 brand new wrapped in celophane. I will not break them out, as they die VERY easily. 3 of my previous ones are dead. Glad Fragility V1 got it working again. I would imagine EVGA got got tierd of replaceing them. Maybe they can sell them again with no warranty whatsoever. I'd buy it.
