Does anyone have or know where I can get the version of ELEET or ELEETX that WORKS w the X58 FTW3 in Win 10, I have all the updates etc, system runs great minus the access to the clocking utils. this is my gaming rig and I would prefer to run it w windows as tuning my preferred flavor of linux (which I can use it's built in OC features) is still a royal PITA to tune it for any Windows platform games... (I still cant get it to run Sins of a Solar Empire with mods in linux for more than 10 minutes...SMH)

    That one gave me
    1) "Error during driver installation" message.
    2) Then the program started immediately even though the install didn't finish nor did I start it,  and I had to force it to quit.

Same result as the one someone in another thread I replied to listed. The one I found on my own through looking in the forum won't even install it, simply says hardware not supported.

I'm a noob to overclocking but used to be a HSR SSR rep for Compaq in the days of 98/XP I'm almost tempted to dig out one of my old Win XP MCE or worse just to play around.

My  Arch distro boot can oc natively but like I said....games are hit and miss and require 10s of hours or more of config.

I can BTW provide more details of system etc if needed. I just as a force of habit don't as in RL peoples eyes tend to glass over. I'm worse than Data in ST-TNG about going too far into detail ad nauseum.

ive tried the link rj posted above (plus a couple of others pointing to this file) for my 760 classified, while i was able to install it in win 10/64, the program upon launch displays "this program does not support now". so ive installed windows 7 ultimate sp1 and get the same error at launch. for fun i changed the date to apr 3 2000 but that didnt help.

I have gotten the same results as Harley. This model does not support now. I wonder if it has anything to do with having a Zeon Processor vs the standard I3 I5 or I7 processors...

I have even gone so far a minor experimentation with killing some of the data reporting settings, ie what windows allows communicated between programs and telemetry and no dice. Don't ask what exactly I did, it was something I came across in another forum and tried. I have since reinstalled Win 10 as I have a few programs and games that just run better with it...

its silly this issue, and i was trying on a 975 in the e760 board. i also tried 8.2, 9.4 and 10.3 versions. ive taken the system apart and the mb is now in the box of shame awaiting its fate.

maybe pm austin86 , he says he was going to use eleet with his 990x.

I actually have a few theories in the case of mine. I don't have a mainstream I class processor to test with however I have other issues with this mobo and I'm hoping the issue is actually a malfunctioning processor in my case.
    1) I have a replacement zeon coming in the mail to test it as I'm also currently limited to the first memory channel only. I had all 3 populated originally w the max possible and it only saw the first 8 gigs. I spent over a week scrutinizing all the discrete components on the board looking for any differences in placement etc as some people mod their motherboards, and this was a used board given to me from a fellow tech after my last machine died a year ago.
    2) I'm looking at replacing the bios chip if that doesn't work as I'm unsure if it was the original bios from EVGA or something the company that resold it in a "super high end custom build machine" config...I have seen some of the nutty things some of those companies did and the bios I originally saw before I flashed it w the "proper" EVGA one looked hinky... ie multiple functions not showing, custom splash screen etc. Happily I'm quite conversant/handy w a reflow gun or soldering iron... I was one of the high end vape mod builders when nice was penstyle device...lol so replacing a component here or there is no biggie.

Heck the case this mobo is in is custom, made of wood and soon enough going in a slide out access tray in my tinyhome I'm building...I'm building its final power supply to run off the 12vdc lighting battery bank. I went for my own build as I saw no reasonably priced units premade... best I saw was 450 watts and this machines final requirements will be in the 700-800 watt range when running full bore when I use it for gaming. currently it's pulling only 436 but I don't have the watercooling on it yet.

so you are using 3 or 6 sticks of 4gb but at startup the bios only sees 8gb. and cpuz shows more ram total but in the wrong locations (if you have 3 of 6)?
ive had that issue with three of the six x58 mb ive been using in the last six months when swapping out cpu. one was a bad stick of ram, but the other two i pulled the cpu, blew out the socket and cleaned the cpu pads and reinstalled and that fixed them for now.
cant you just flash your bios chip with a current safe one?

was populated w 6. now running just 2. CPUz could see all. bios cannot although it did see them at one point. Bios is up to date for the FTW3 TR revision board w EVGA bios. I flashed custom bios out as soon as I saw multiple settings unavailable and couldn't comfirm where it came from. (after confirming the board looked exactly like it did in images of this board from EVGA site) Neither multiple linux dev  nor Win10 see past the first 8.

When I was first given this board I gave it a thorough once over including a sonic bath of 97% rubbing alcohol (built the sonic cleaner myself so I didn't have to pay exorbitant prices for something that may be needed to hold larger objects) to clean. ram sticks were brand new (Teamgroup) 12800 CL11. I have swapped through all sticks in the first dimm slots they are all good just no response in the other 4 slots.

The processor is questionable as it is a refurb, and mem controller is on chip if I read specs right. hence ordering a replacement. I went through over an hour w a tech from EVGA (bearing in mind old board and he was having to recall stuff from memory)

I'm kinda loathe to physically go at the dimm slots, as I'm not sure what I would use to clean them w/o the risk of damaging. suggestions would be appreciated.

if youve cleaned and reseated the cpu then a new cpu is next step. i blow out with canned air then gently a toothbrush and ispropanol to clean the dimms.

DAMN! I must be slipping in my old age....Never even thought of a toothbrush...and I pride myself on thinking outside the box (Mac is short for a longer more popular name)...IE " a box...you mean there's a box?"

That is one thing I didn't do was a physical cleaning of the processor's contacts. Just a physical inspection in which they all appeared clean. it is possible something not visable to the naked eye is corrupting signal transfer. I'll check that when the other processor gets here. Curios if a few rubs w a q tip dipped in acetone will hurt the contact side of the processor...maybe flux or want not is sealing one of them.

As to the issue of the software glitch or whatever is stopping the Elitex from running that is still an issue but I'll wait till I test the fix on the memory issue as it may be the culprit.  still wondering though Harley, have you been using an I class processor or a Xeon? I'm wondering if it doesn't like the Xeon architecture vs an I5 or I7... I don't have any of those to test the theory as they are still an arm and a leg...at least to me. a refurbed/used Xeon is 12-60 bucks and they take much better to overclocking anyway.

I found the problem when I changed the processor out. One of the socket pins was literally broken off about a mm down which is why I didn't notice it when I inspected the board the first time. no bends etc just no contact due to a piece of the pin not being there. UGGH. oh well at least it works at all. looks like I will be searching for a replacement as it's not worth 100+ dollars to  get it fixed.

Now 2 xeon 5650s and 24 gb teamgroup 12800 ddr3 6 4gb dimms. guess im going to have to look for a decent 1366 mb that has triple channel for cheap now as I have a little too much in it for my taste now...

I wish I could find a dual processor server board w a respectable pinout list to be happy w the memory, I saw someone made one once somewhere on the web but I would have to have FULL DOCUMENTATION not the crap most companies (dell/hp/compaq/etc) put out or it would be near impossible to setup the control wiring w/o killing the board by accident.

As I said B4 at least it does work. My games help me keep my "sanity" in this currently mad world.

I have re-purchase a x58 Classified 3x SLI (e760) for benching again. I was not happy with my submission from Sept 2018 as I didn't work the memory :-( I have also re-purchased a R3E for better scores. I first installed Win 7 SP1 on the R3E and was not happy with it's OCing of a i7-920/950. I took the drive over to the EVGA board and when I installed ELeet Ver 0.8.2 (As listed on EVGA's web site for the x58) I get - This model does not support now.
I was able to get the above software to work -> http://overclockingpin.com/eleet/ELeetTune.zip <- Can you place this link or PUT back the old link for the ELeet software that works with the x58 boards?

    Thank You

i like other peoples computer problems... too bad you have xeons and i have an e760 rev1 that dont like xeons.

Hahahaha  I usually do, right up until I have to fix em... I spent 5 months on my landladies laptop chasing problem after problem right up until it reminded me of the advice I gave a neighboring shop 15 years ago. They had a little Mazda w random engine and transmission problems and asked me to look at it because I had previously worked for the transmission shop that was up the street before the owner ran it into the ground after a drug relapse.... My diagnosis after looking at it for 5 minutes? I flippantly said as I walked off to replace the battery as I watched them use a jump box to start it...they didn't believe me. 2 weeks later after it quit starting even w the boost box, they replaced the battery. Suddenly it worked just fine, no issues whatsoever.

The issue w the laptop? A voltage regulator circuit in it had a bad discrete component or a bad solder joint and was sending  fluctuating voltage thru the entire device. Computers want STABLE voltages, in fact they get PISSED when it isn't. So in this case the HDD malfunctioned, The USB 3 was slower than USB2,  and the processor was WAY slower than what I gave her which is a old core 2 duo 2.6ghz w ddr2. Her laptop was a 4 core amd running DDR3 and running at over 3.6ghz. Almost twice the machine. The older business machine is running circles around the laptop.

...and yes I have a soft spot for little old ladies, let alone I felt bad it took me that long to figure it out.

    Re: ELEET software issue X58 FTW3 2022/05/27 00:21:56 (permalink)
final comment on this board and the issue of memory only showing the first 2 dimm slots. I saw a post while looking for a Zeon compatible X58 motherboard with triple channel capability. for those with the power to do it THIS NEEDS TO BE A STICKY SOMEWHERE....If you are using 4 dimms on a Zeon in an X58 MB, the dimms MAY need to be placed in slots 3,4,5,and 6...NOT !,2,3, and 4. The Tell is slots one and 2 will be the only ones that show.

Also now all 24 gigs IE all 3 channels are working on my board for some reason until I populated it 2 then 4 then all 6 it wouldn't recognize any but the first 2. example, first I did 8 gig in slots 1 and 2, then I did 16 in slots 3 4 5 and 6, then I populated all 6. Weird...but hey it works.

Still working on the not playing nice with the ELEET software, but now it's a challenge....I SOOO love a challenge in the form of a puzzle.

P.S. don't ask what I did to deal with the damaged pin in the socket...lets just say if it was anyone else's machine and I didn't have a spare processor I would have recommended a new MB...it's janky but it works. I also found out the pin involved temp monitoring and something else not memory.

Massive search all over the net. 2 days off and on searching and have come to the the conclusion They set a force disable comment in the coding of one of the EVGA x58 drivers somewhere. IOW it doesn't matter what software version of ELEET or ELEETX you have either a switch in the bios (quite likely beings the message is really curt) or in the drivers are killing it outright. I would LOVE if someone found an old X58 FTW3 disc and could toss it my way. I'm in it now just to see what was done now as the end result will be me having to do all the overclocking work manually through the bios. I have a serious issue w knowing things for sure, Theories, even if they are hard working theories just don't cut it w me...I HAVE TO KNOW... lol now to figure out how to get this thread closed.

You could always contact EVGA tech support to see if they can assist you.
