So 4 companies have been warned to change their loot boxes in the game or face Dutch enforcement action. Personally I think loot boxes are bogus and I'd like to see them go away.

Wholeheartedly agree. I also think all the money they've gotten from selling them should be returned.

But that may be just me.

As much as I hate government regulation, since gambling is already heavily regulated the least government can do is be consistent with enforcing those regulations. Of course loot boxes is gambling and targeted directly to kids. It's a game of chance for varying rewards in which game publishers are charging additional for. It hasn't made gaming more enjoyable or for that matter resulted in more or additional free content either which was the big lie to push it to gamers in the first place.

Total crap. Hate it. Regulate the hell of out it. Console manufacturer's want to play cute with not allowing supposed adult rated games on their platforms, but they allow gambling for their child consumer base...

Let's put this into some perspective here. I can't buy a metal cylinder in the United States to reduce dangerous volume of noise for my firearm without paying $200 tax, filling out paperwork, and then waiting nearly 1 year for approval, but if you're a child gambling through Microsoft giving them money for a chance(with unknown odds) to win some bauble you're good.

Get denied constitutional civil rights as an adult, freely gamble as a kid if you do it via video games. Get real with this nonsense.
