Dual GTS 450’s

Hey all, 
I know this is old tech but I still require help…
just wondering if there is a way to get 2 monitors going using the mini HDMI ports on both cards rather then hdmi/dvi on one…
When I try the second cardS port the primary monitor goes black (but still somewhat receiving a signal) and the second monitor shows the desktop background and taskbar but no icons.
My guess is I’m just missing something…..
help!

    Try pressing the windows key+p. Also check the nvidia control panel setup multiple displays menu.

    I have set up both monitors. The control panel finds them both but once I apply the setting the primary screen turns back. Windows P was not able to help either

    Which monitors do you own? I believe both monitors need to be connected to the first video card when choosing to run an extended display.

    Got it working….just kept trying and trying and the primary finally showed the desktop
