Nevermind, found the answers.

X99 mobos don't support intel VROC so can't make a hardware bootable RAID0 array via PCI-E. Only Software RAID is an option

Or, get a add in card with a controller.  Wish they were cheaper....  NOT gonna drop 1K on a 2066 proc just to get over 40 pcie lanes.  Will go Threadripper over that...

Add-in cards don't even give you bootable RAID 0 if you don't have a chipset/CPU that supports VROC. The SSD's just show up as separate drives. Without VROC add-in cards still only give you software RAID so you'd still have to have another drive as your main C drive.

    Was talking about this: https://www.rjltechnologies.com/shop/product/42008460/1?gclid=CjwKCAjw1tDaBRAMEiwA0rYbSPyre2d9wJ89S5LLRNTAjVtMC57N1_czDHMnXxm3KSm8n0mEuNmGzhoCNnYQAvD_BwE

Yeah i researched that one. Apparently you still need VROC to get bootable RAID 0 working, otherwise they just show up as 4 separate drives. Or if you don't have X299 with VROC the only other option to is to go with X399 and Threadripper. That AIC in your link does provide bifurcation though so if you just want to split a X16 PCI-E up then it will do that.

I figured out a way to Bifurcate my 8X slot into two on my X99 motherboard by modding the bios. The only problem is of course you wont be able to create a raid array though I have theory that if you were to create the array on a supported system and remove the drives and place them on the modded system perhaps it could work. Maybe.

On my X99 Classified I have an ASUS Hyper M.2. It only sees the first M.2 drive installed as PCIe 4x card. The other 12x are not seen.

It's supposed to split it up into 4 4x channels. But on the X99 Classified it only sees the first 4x assigned to the first M.2. It sees none of the other three M.2 on the card. I apologize for not knowing your terminology for the setup.
