I have bought an EVGA 2070 in July as a place holder for the Step-Up to a 3080 FTW3.
When it became available in the EU Step-Up I was able to register my card successfully to Step 1. Now my 2070 has started developing artifacts even when underclocked to -150 MHz and fans at 100% in a 3DMark Time Spy benchmark run.
The retailer is asking me to send my car back to them. I am not sure if this is going to be just a return or replacement yet depending on if I can still remain on Step-Up if they send me a different card back?
TIA.

You would want to contact EVGA support and talk to them. If it's not the same card then you would lose the place in line. EVGA RMA process should allow you to remain in place but a retailer would be a different story.

If you send the card to the retailer, it is unlikely that your serial number will match, meaning that EVGA won’t be able to take a mismatched serial number for Step-Up.
If you went with EVGA RMA, which I have heard is running behind due to a lot of different reasons, so it is difficult to know which path is best to take right now.

I haven't sent the card back to the retailer yet they are just asking me to initiate this process. I will try opening an RMA ticket with the EU EVGA first and see how they want to handle it.
I would like to keep with EVGA as there are no available SRP cards anyway in the EU for Ampere. Step-Up guarantees me one and my old card at full cost. Thanks for the input!

Oh boy, what bad luck. I'd definitely get ahold of support for an answer to that. At worst, you'll have to just keep it until your step up is approved

Yes, I have and I replied to your thread too in more detail. I have a replacement card on it's way back to me now from Germany arriving on the 25th via UPS. I will update here once I receive my replacement card.
