Use UPS ground, instead.  According to the estimate provided by a UPS shipping partner, the cost for ground service is almost the same as USPS Priority Medium Box.  If I had shipped my GTX 560 Ti 448 Classified with UPS Ground, it would have arrived at least one day earlier than the my USPS 2-day priority mail for the same price.  USPS mishandled the package in multiple steps, including when they attempted to correct the initial mistake, and delivered it 4 days after the originally planned date.  To make it worse, the tracking provided wrong information, which shows it has been delivered 3 days prior the actual delivery, and still it says so, even after the USPS consumer affair division told me the actual delivery date.  When you speak to customer service, if you can and are patient enough to go through seemingly impossible gatekeepers, you feel like you are talking to robots or parrots, although they insist they are human beings.  Don't even try it if you want to keep your blood pressure low.  Actually talking to them doesn't resolve anything but just gives you more frustration.  When I filed a complaint, they gave me a case number after asking me for the tracking number, and told me they immediately will begin investigation.  Two days later, someone called me and asked me for tracking number.  Now you get the picture.  Just do yourself a favor. Use UPS ground.  I was not smart enough to heed the EVGA recommendation, and paid the price.  Maybe I should not blame USPS.

Even EVGA I believe says not to use USPS for RMA services. Don't skimp out.

Most companies don't allow USPS as they only get deliveries once a week but really I've never had a problem with USPS but I try to ship FedEx express saver if isn't a lot more.

I've had mixed issues with both companies. UPS seems to take longer in my area, i've had mishandled packages with UPS more than USPS in my area... I will definitely have to say that USPS customer service is VERY frustrating to work with. UPS will at least answer their phones during business hours... But know this... If it is within 30 minutes of 9PM CST and you call UPS customer support, they'll put you on hold and delay the call as long as possible so they can cold transfer you into "the correct department" and have you wait until it tells you they are closed for the day. It's happened to me twice...

Also, UPS has hidden my packages in the bushes next to my porch and reports "left on front porch" a few times.

I only have problems with USPS when I don't use their priority mail boxes or envelopes... or ship to a business.

I only use UPS when I ship out RMA's... their tracking is better than the USPS is.  FedEx is a bit more of a trip for me (four blocks) and the price is comparable so, it's UPS.  Besides I know folks there.

I use USPS almost exclusively for shipping items I sell or RMA's. Not only is it cheaper, it is nearly always there within two days using Priority. If I can choose USPS Priority during check-out, I do. The only exception is when it is a larger item due to cost and speed not correlating well. Still, I find USPS to be great - not sure how you got so unlucky with your experience.

Same here. If you print your own labels and pack the merchandise yourself it's way cheaper than any other service. Used them for years, never an issue and the 2-3 day arrivals makes for happy customers.

I've used USPS for years with no problem. When I ship I consider each of the companies and the post office is always much less expensive.  Companies usually send my packages FedEx or UPS because they do have better tracking.  But I hold my breath until I receive the package because on numerous occasions I've had to go to my neighbors to find my package. I also hate it when they leave it by my mail box which is located on a country road 1/4 mile from my house.

Wait till you have a claim over 100.00+ for a damaged item :( USPS takes its sweet time on any claims .My last one was 4 months for 750 camera that was messed up hard (broken lens ,lens connection was broken so you couldn't put a lens in it ,totally worthless at that point) And i had dated pictures/.video day of shipment showing it in a USPS box being closed and sealed with the USPS mailing label .That same box looked like a time capsule from 1940's Hiroshima 3 days later at the buyers doorstep.(he took pics also)

Re:Do not ship RMA with USPS 2013/09/12 07:39:06 (permalink)
If it were just a delayed delivery, I would have considered myself simply unlucky.  However, because of the following incidents, I now think it is rather a systematic problem of USPS, not just an isolated event.

    - The priority mail was shipped on Wednesday from Maryland.  A sorting facility in Anaheim sent it to Irvine post office, about 20 miles away from Brea on Friday.  It was then sent back to the same sorting facility the same day.  I think at least sending it to the Brea post office would be more simple and cost efficient, if the Irvine post office couldn't deliver it to EVGA.
    - Tracking showed that it was delivered on Saturday 8:50 AM.  On Monday, EVGA told me it was impossible, since the local post office knew the business is closed on Saturday.
    - Call to 1-800-ASK----- has no option to talk to any human being.  It just asked for tracking number, and when I gave the number, I heard it was delivered, period.  After several try, finally when I spoke someone, he asked me for tracking number and gave me a case number.  An investigation would follow and someone would call me, according to him.
    - Next day, no one contacted me.  I called 1-800 number again, and kept saying "agent" several times, which finally led to someone again.  I was told then that they couldn't do anything because they are only taking claims, and investigation is handled by a totally separate entity.  So no more information.  Instead, they gave me a consumer affair division contact.  Call to the division directly went to voice mail box.  I left voice mail, no one contacted me .
    - On Wednesday, I got a call from the consumer affair division, who then asked me for tracking number, which means they were not doing anything because they have no record of the tracking number.  Whoever gave the case number to me in the beginning just pretended to record the complaint, but never bothered to fill in the tracking number, not even a wrong one.  So I gave the tracking number, and I was told it was delivered on Monday.  I checked with EVGA, and it was actually received on Tuesday.  I asked her in that case why the tracking information still shows it was delivered on Saturday, she couldn't answer.
    - This unfortunate event involves multiple entities within USPS, geographically and sub-organization wise. All of them have demonstrated this attitude that everything is fine because it has been delivered anyway.  No explanation, no excuse, no nothing about missending, false tracking result, no record of tracking on complaint case, and still no correction on tracking information.  I suspect that they simply wait somehow miraculously the mail would show up without actively trying to do anything.  I smell a culture of legacy and sloths, and that's why I warn not to use USPS.  For business purpose, I've been using exclusively UPS for more than 7 years.  I had one missing delivery a few years back, very important, and their customer service was very effective and responsive.  It was found and delivered a day after, within the critical time limit.  I had several issues with FeDex when receiving, yet still their customer service was at least responsive, if not necessarily effective.

It's likely that's your tracking number, but still possible it isn't. What's your tracking number? Someone can probably tell if it isn't supposed to be one.

    Thanks
