I Found an old GTX 680 FTW in a box and was wondering if its still viable as a gaming GPU or if i should just recycle it....

    It depends entirely on the title. It’ll still kick it for some older ones, but it will really struggle with modern titles. I hope that by “recycle” you mean sell and not actually recycle...

    Should be good for 1080p 60 FPS with Medium settings in most games made in the last few years. Still workable.

    Nooo! You can’t just throw it out, man. Plenty of people would kill to have a GPU like that. If you’re gonna throw it... I know where it can go to good use. :)

    The only issue is that It has a waterblock on it and no AIR cooler, I got it this way back in the day and used it in a water loop. PM me guys

    The card is comparable to something like a 1050ti.
     
    I use a 1050ti at the moment - 4gb version, and I play most games at medium to high at 2k without issue - ultra is beyond what it can do on newer games though.
     
    at 1080p that thing should still push pretty good frames

    Most games at or above 1920x1200 (or 1920x1080) resolution will run fine even with a GTX680. But once resolution increases to 2560x1600 monitor with double pixels quality. GTX 680 doesn't have this much GPU power.
    Still it's very old GPU why don't you just sell it and buy a good one with more GPU power and Resistant to high GPU temperature
