Hey guys,

I am having an issue right now where my display will freeze for about 7-8 seconds and will then return to normal. This issue will occur randomly and I can't pinpoint why it happens, it can happen when watching a video online or playing a game. During this time the sound continues as normal, I believe this is a GPU related issue as I have simply exhausted all my other options at this point. I have reset all of my hardware to its stock settings and clock speeds, this goes for CPU, GPU, RAM. I have done a clean and updated driver install for my GPUs and only installed the driver and PhysX, the issue continues to persist. I shut off SLI the issue still happens, I even removed my second card and I still have the problem.

Any helpful information that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Each card produces the same issue?

I would check the event viewer to see if it's saying anything.

Yeah go back to one card and test the 2nd card alone and see if the same is happening.. that's the first step.

Sorry for the late reply but I have been doing some more testing in what time I have. I tried my second card, and both of the cards have the same hitching problem, and it looks to be even worse on the second card. Though at this point I feel like it also might be completely random when it happens.

    :EDIT:

Okay I have just done some digging in the event viewer logs and I have found this.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

So it does look like it is something to do with my drivers or graphic cards. But since I have used DDU to purge my drivers and have installed the latest driver multiple times, should I try to roll my drivers back to a much older version?

Have you tried to reseat all the power cables on all of your hardware? It wouldn't hurt to try older drivers.

from what I've been seeing from friends and forums, the latest driver are bugged. down upgrading should fix this issue. if not, your PSU might dying too.

No problems with the latest drivers here. The Nvidia display driver crash issue has been around for years across numerous driver versions.

Well I am still having the issue, though I don't believe it has anything to do with the that issue I found in the event viewer as it was not logged this time. So this is to do with something else.

So the issue does occur in all PCI-E slots. I have done a little bit of looking, and I am thinking that this issue mat be game related. I have experienced the issue most in world of tanks and some indie games. From what I have read online WoT apparently does not play well with G-Sync so I will try and do some testing with G-Sync off and see if the problem persists.

Ah ok, this is happening to me also with WOT. It's happening when I have chrome running in the back ground.
