Hi. I tried to reproduce 2 times display driver crash. When i run 3dmark time spy stress test. I turn off monitor and then turn on again it will stop test and display TDR crash report in event viewer. Is this reason to worry? This happened 2 times when i turn off montor and turn on back.
I tried to reproduce this more than 2 times, and no crash. Yes test will stop , but no TDR driver crash. Weird.

PC:
6700K stock
16GB DDR4
Asus Z170-P
Corsair 750 RM
1080 Ti Fe stock No oc.

Screen from event viewer:

Any ideas why it crashed driver only 2 times during this? I am trying to reproduce this, turn off monitor, then turn on yes test will stop, but not TDR crash again.

My monitor: iiyama red eagle g-master gb2488hsu-b3

If i dont turn off monitor test will run non stop even 24 hours without crash.

Monitor is plugged by DVI.

Pc:
9900K 5ghz ( llc level 5 idle 1.34-1.35v,load 1.313-323v)
2x16GB DDR4 GSKILL 3000mhz

    1) Please report this bug to NVIDIA so that they can find the cause and hopefully correct it in a future driver release.  http://www.nvidia.com/object/driverqualityassurance.html
    2) Stop turning off your monitor.

Problem solved. ;)  There is no need to continue to purposely do something which you know will result in an unwanted condition.  There is nothing wrong with the card if it works properly in every other way.

I have no idea.  There is no reason that you should continue to worry about it.  Report it to NVIDIA if you believe that it is a bug.  Otherwise, don't worry about it; unless you have more issues some time in the future.

Somebody said:"make and model of the psu?
turn off/on monitor will make power fluctuation"

So maybe its something with my PSU? I little worried.

But in games and heavy load even 24 hours is stable and no crashing.

Turning off and on the monitor will not change the PSU load. The display connection is a buffered high impedance signal connection. It sounds very unbelievable to me that the PSU is the cause.

But i have question. When i tried to reproduce driver crash i cant. It happened only 2 times. I run benchmark 2 times, turned off monitor, turned back on, test stopped and driver crashed.
On  3,4,5 time, test only stopped, but driver not crashed. Any ideas? Should i be worried?

Quit turning your monitor off. Do not worry. If it starts crashing other times, then maybe start worrying.

Its the Time Spy Software, Not the hardware causing this type of "crash"

There is no advantage in turning the monitor off that I am aware of; so I have no idea why you ever turned it off.

Its a benchmark (synthetic) testing software; normally you would watch and look for and display issues

Ok last question can i ?

When test is running and....when i turn on monitor test will stop. But...
If sometimes TDR driver crash during turning on monitor and sometimes not crash , its not fault of hardware?

Sometimes TDR driver crash when turning on monitor and sometimes driver will not crash.
It doesn't happen everytime ( TDR ). One time it crash driver, second time not.

Why are you turning off and on your monitor? Stop doing that. Set your Windows power options according to your power saving preferences.

Regarding your question, how many times do you need to ask the same question? Stop worrying about it until you have more and different issues.

I am not going to answer any more.  You have already asked that question and I already answered that it is highly unlikely.  It is extremely likely to be a bug in the Time Spy software.

The cause is the lack of a display or display mode change detected while the bench is running. Depending upon when you caused the error, it may give different error cause. I can repeat your issue just by changing the display input on my monitor OR turn it off. This causes an error condition: user error. Solution? Stop causing the error condition.  This is your solution and there is not another one.

Ok thank you for explanation. So finally last question. So if i have sometimes TDR log in event log after turning on monitor when test abort its not hardware fault? This is last question.
