I’ve realized that sometimes it’s the best to completely walk away from negative people emotionally. If someone feels a specific way about you and views you in a negative light, you feel the need to constantly prove who you are (even more so if this person is someone who truly love and care deeply about). It’s better to lay the groundwork stating that one day you would love to have some sort of a relationship ONLY if they are open to see you for the person you truly are. You can say the exact right words at the right exact time, but if their heart isn’t right they will never receive a word you say

Sometimes people are already convinced of their opinions and they themselves will do anything they can to prove they are right at all costs and completely stop being objective.

By removing yourself from toxic and negative situations, you give others opportunities to see that you value yourself enough to no longer be needlessly hurt - hopefully this leads them to self-evaluate. Often times negativity is a projection of their issues and has nothing to do with you.

Remove yourself from those situations, otherwise you are constantly putting yourself out there to simply go through more and more pain . If you have confidence in yourself, know your heart, know your identity, it truly doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks about you.

You also must look at your heart through the process and love regardless of how they act. But you need to love from a distance and must learn to protect yourself, because you are worth it ❤️

Negativity is like poison ivy, scratch at it as much as you want but it will just spread. Just pour bleach onto it and move on with your day.
    Been there as well

Reminds me of something I learned far later than I wish I had, that when you have to deal with people who have no interest in helping you, listening, or understanding, you have to deal with them very differently than otherwise. Still not sure exactly how that should be, but it seems a lot harder. One thing I do know, is that for me, I have to sometimes be very deliberate on thinking about what they are thinking, wanting, and feeling, and that there is a very high chance it completely different from what I'm thinking, wanting and feeling. It's something that can be very draining in my case anyway, as it doesn't come naturally, and is sometimes questionable when and if it's worth it.
Sometimes you do just need to walk away, even more so if toxicity is all you're getting.

well, I'd add that sometimes others CAUSE the negativity by how they interact with the person.

But other than that, yeah, leave people who give you heartburn behind.

Toxicity only exists where you allow it to. It's enabled by others.

Cutting people out of your life doesn't mean you hate them, it simply means you respect yourself.

    Toxic adults thrive on sensitivity.
Some or most adults arent worth your sensitivity.
    Whats that saying,

This is true. But I think true maturity is also being completely objective and aware of ourselves. We may find ourselves focused on us only that we do not notice that we are the "toxic" one people need to get away from. (*Just sharing based on a lesson learned the hard way.)

Hypothetically...what would be the advantages if we were being socially engineered to be this way?

I say this cuz alot of your comments made me realize how each of us not only encounter this, but deal with and live with this every day.

It's a good point some time it's best to walk away if it's in person or online. Some people don't want to listen and just want to be negative on everything and nobody needs that in their life.

How has your health been btw?

Well I actually almost died last year. I had an almost 20cm mass growing in my small intestine. It obstructed me, and it was bleeding and I almost passed away. I was very lucky to have had an emergency surgical procedure to remove the mass and a portion of my small intestine.

It’s been a little over 7 months since I had my surgery. I’m still not 100%, but I’m thankful for every day I get to live ❤️

I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter what happens, it’s all about how we respond to anything and everything. We get to choose who we want to be. Each thought, motive and action taken captive can guide us to become who our family and friends need us to be.

    Be you.

    Well said.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.
