DOOM Eternal to Also Support Raytracing

In another iD Software game supporting ray tracing (we already know Wolfenstein: Young Blood will support it), id Software's Marty Stratton confirmed that DOOM Eternal will also support the graphics technology. In what capacity, it is unclear as of yet; whether for a global illumination solution, like Metro: Exodus, or just for reflections and shadows like most games seem to be using, is unknown at this point.

    From the videos I have seen is already looking very good, this is a new era starting for games.

    Hopefully AMD will also adapt ray tracing as well.

    Yes, they said new generation of consoles will have it so it is just a matter of time before it appears on pc cards also.

    Let's see what Intel does in this regard

    Did Microsoft officially say Ray Tracing support? I must have missed since everything I read was very general like 4 times more graphical power and 8K gaming. I know Sony made it clear Ray Tracing and 4K at 120Hz is the goal they have.
     
    As for this DOOM game it seems really good looking already with a bit more story elements which seems like it would work out very well as long as the action is still fast. I can't wait to see how ray tracing works on a game built for fast action.

    It needs to be changed & baked into regular process cores in a better way - not specific to 'ray trace' cores... exactly the way "PhysX" evolved from needing a proprietary hardware card into a design that lets it use the standard graphics cores now .

    I think I heard it in the amd conference when they said they had hardware everywhere, consoles, pc, mobile. Or was it on Microsoft conference? Lol
