So CDPR delayed the game another 21 days due to trying to test all nine versions while working from home. Sucks, but maybe not if some of us can get a 3080/3090 in that extra time. Question is...will it be enough?

There is literally no stock anywhere. Drops are so random, very small, and sell out so fast my notifications do not even work. I have school and work so I cannot be camping the f5 all day and night. I do check multiple times a day, but we all know how effective that is.

According to the fan-made 3090 Spreadsheet my email to buy a 3090 FTW3 Ultra should arrive in early February. That’s absolutely disgusting. Nearly five months just to get the chance to buy one? I can see why a lot of people are giving up or giving in to scalpers.

We have a chance.  I just got my email notification for the 24G-P5-3975-KR about 45 min ago and the notification for that card was setup on 2020/09/24.

I'm guessing the 21 days may be to allow for a few more people to get their 30xx cards or Big Navi cards, as well as the general bug hunting, so hopefully all hope is not lost for this holiday season.

At least they're actually properly vetting the game extra on all the platforms before launch to allow more time to find & fix any bugs before launch.  Better than most game makers who release basically unfinished games & let early purchasers basically beta-test the game for them practically.
I'd rather have to wait longer for a game to come out than deal with a ridiculous amount of bugs & crashes.

Another crazy idea might be to just show patience and not buy the game until you get a 30xx card ;)

Exactly this! I bought RDR2 on launch day, even took the day off of work. Couldn't play the stupid game for about a week because I couldn't even get it to launch. My general rule of thumb is now to wait at least a month after any game launch to ensure it will run correctly. I think I waited 3 months after Horizon Zero Dawn launched on PC before I picked it up and I'm glad I did.

Good on CDPR for biting the bullet to make sure gamers get a good experience on day 1. Even then though, I'll probably wait a month, or so, to pick it up to make sure it's properly baked :)

I don't think it's about that at all. I'm pretty sure the PC version has been completed for months, maybe a year, and the problem is the 8 consoles. Stadia in particular. If they'd released the PC version and consoles later as they're ready for the ones lagging behind dragging the rest down it would be better. But they probably have contractual obligations and EU law with preorders makes things difficult. They could get around that if they really wanted to by releasing "early access" when they're ready then the "official" launch all on the same day. That way they fulfil their legal & contractual obligations while not flat out lying to people telling them no more delays then delays literally the next day. That's what bothers me the most about it, honestly. The lack of credibility. I feel sorry for the people that took off after they said no more delays and even confirmed no more delays, only to go back on it the next day.

It works out well for me though since the hybrid cards don't come out until mid/late November. Now I don't need to be quite as stressed about trying to get ANY card I can get my hands on and can just focus on the hybrid once it releases. The Zen 3 CPUs on the 5th are a bigger worry however. No telling how that's going to go.

I would sign up for the notify and see. Worst cast is you wait a few weeks after it’s release for the new card to show up.

Also keep in mind the associate rewards codes are a good idea to use if you sign up to be notified. For a 3080 FTW3 Ultra it’s over $40 in instant savings and over $80 for a 3090.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.
