Today I'll be rebuilding my Cyberpower that I bought off of Amazon nearly 2 years ago. It's been out of commission for 4-5 months due to motherboard issues. I'll be using the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero, EVGA CLC 120 AIO, EVGA SuperNOVA 750 Platinum, 3 be quiet! BL069 SILENTWINGS 3 140mm fans and a copy of Win10 Pro USB version.

I am using the standard NZXT 340 windowed case, 6700K, MSI GTX 980, 4 sticks of ADATA 32 gigs and my main and gaming SSDs from the old pc. Soon as the parts arrive and the build commences I'll post pictures. I'm looking forward to not only having a working pc again but one using a high end mobo. All my previous rigs have used low to mid range mobos.

Also for reference the old pc was using a off the shelf low grade 800 watt psu and AIO cooler plus a mid-range MSI Z170A Gaming Pro mobo. So yea the new parts are going to make a huge difference.

Alright MODS Rigs has been updated to reflect what went into Project Heracles. I went with the original Greek name and not the more Westernized version of Heracles when naming this Project Heracles. I also chose the name since he is a demi-god of strength and the main component in this rebuild is a strong, powerful ASUS motherboard. The next things to do is upgrade my keyboard, buy a UPS\battery backup and possibly replace my MSI GTX 980 with a EVGA 1080.

I saw that you updated the mods rigs but there are no pictures in there yet.

Alright images uploaded for my MODS Rigs. I'll admit I'm so glad I kept the S340 for this rebuild. Made my life so much easier when doing the cable management. Also I kind of rebranded over the original Cyberpower brand on the case front.

Looks good! Fan of the orange hehe, how do you enjoy the "high-end" mobo over using generic mid-low end ones?
OCed that 6700K yet? :P

The orange is leftover from the original Cyberpower pc and I love this motherboard so far. Haven't oced the 6700K yet nor do I plan to yet. I should get a carbon fiber kit and cover up the orange though in the case.

IX Hero is an excellent board, I've had it for some time now and it's been rock stable @ 5GHz and the BIOS options are great!

Do you know if the red USB 3.1 port is the Gen 2 that the website and manual talks about? I can't get any viable info about this.

Yes, the red port & USB-C are USB 3.1 Gen 2 and the blue ones USB 3.1 Gen 1 (previously known as USB 3.0).

Ah good to know then. I have plans in the near future that'll require USB 3.1 Gen 2 so knowing both of those ports are as such helps me out a lot. Also as I said the info on this wasn't viable since the website and manual are less than helpful. Not entirely surprising really.
