The 50.8 billion point gap isn't that much. I'm guessing we'll pass you all in the next 14 months. Mark my words.

Sincerely,

Can you say 5.7 years? Your downward trend doesn't look so good.
At any rate, welcome back to the forums.

Is there a reason so many of you have what I can only assume is your passkey in your username?

its the wallet address to send FLDC coins to, its how FLDC works for any team, unlike CURE which requires you to fold under their team.

Edit: toddryoungblood, you should find a differently formatted signature as a lot of the info in your sig is illegible.

OK, I know what it is.  But with fees and all what do you really end up with $/per 1 million points ?

After Taxes as hobbies are not tax deductible; but, All income is taxable

I'm wondering about the $/watt or point per month

The coin is also elusive on how its value is set - IMO

I'm not Folding for the EVGA Bucks - I'm not going to waste them either - just a gift

Used the calculator for Cure + Folding Coin combined and it would take me a month to make between $10 and $20 roughly.  I can earn 10 evga bucks in less than a week.
IF I cared about profiting it still wouldn't make much sense for me.  Folding@EVGA FTW.

EDIT: added "for me" to indicate that others may have differing situations/opinions/results/etc.

I don't really trust the profit calculator on the website. Here is some basic math for Feb profit.

    Point Total = 99,482,281
    FLDC Total = 133,876.6494 @ $.001325 = $177.38

    CURE Total = 3,392.03 @ $0.055996 = $189.94

    Electricity (est.) $70.

    Point Total = 99,482,281
    FLDC Total = 133,876.6494 @ $.001325 = $177.38
    + CURE Total = 3,392.03 @ $0.055996 = $189.94
    - Electricity (est.) $70.
Net Total: $297.32 or $2.99/Mil PPD or $10.61/day

I mean, you're already folding and paying for electricity.  Based on my math, you're missing out on net $17.34/day.

Electricity is absurdly priced here in Southern CA, so my ppd vs. electricity cost is probably way off what others may see.
Also, folding all month prevents me from running a multitude of other BOINC projects.

As seen by my avatar and signature, my hobbies made me disregard terms like "profit" or "return on investment" looooong ago.
I'm in it 'cause I enjoy it.
Use some bucks to get more EVGA stuff every once in a while.

Not to take away from what you have chosen to do.  Everyone is free to fold/crunch/mine however they choose.

the only problem using USD in these calculations is that it changes too much, need to keep it to BTC. also FLDC is half as profitable as CURE not equal. here is my google spreadsheet to calculate profit on CURE, which i hastily added FLDC to as well. you can edit the green cell values based on your information. its based on time of day power costs instead of flat rate. if you have a flat rate just use it for both On/Off-Peak and put 0 for the rate adjestment.

You're right. It's hard to calculate given the volatility of FLDC/CURE/BTC. But it ends up being profitable either way, even after expenses.

    You're certainly right.

I'm not trying to be pushy. Others joining the "pool" would actually decrease all participants take-home. I just want people to know there are other options.

Your teams downward trend is startling to me. Do you have any explanation. We know why ours fluctuates but rarely if ever has that much slope. Dang man, you could start selling snow boards for that thing.
Btw, thanks for the Curecoin info.

Your teams downward trend is startling to me. Do you have any explanation. We know why ours fluctuates but rarely if ever has that much slope. Dang man, you could start selling snow boards for that thing.
Btw, thanks for the Curecoin info.

I couldn't honestly explain that, as I'm relatively new to the team as well. That being said, our weekly trend does look good on the long-term. I'm bullish Curecoin over the next year because I believe most of our higher-producing members realize the huge (100%+ ROI) returns and will be able to re-invest in their F@H infrastructure. Personally, my 6 month plan includes moving 5 of my non-1080 Ti to Ti, building out another system with 4 more 1080 Ti and grow funds (14 months) for another two racks with space available for 8 cards once Volta hits.

I should be at 10m PPD by July.

the rise in the profitability of other alt coins like Dash, Ether, and others most certainly have driven some compute power away from CURE.

WOW, that is an ambitious goal! mine at the moment is to payoff half what i spent on my current folding rig, because i was going to spend that much on a new system regardless of what it did, and then start re-investing at that point. if we have another bullish push to 0.001+ BTC/CURE i would hit that goal now. but with the possibility of there being two different BTC and its price falling so much makes me think that it will not happen till BTC stabilizes a bit.

I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to other alt-coins, so I couldn't state whether or not it's because people are moving to other coins. It's really interesting to see some substantial activity on both FLDC (73K) and CURE (31K) this week in volume. This is some of the highest volume I've seen since joining the team. Honestly, I think the volatility in may actually be good for alt-coins, given that some of the capital may shift our way until things settle down a little bit.

I'm really impressed someone would drop nearly 100k in coins like this if they didn't have more upside potential.

I'm also going to point out that I could see the chance of more capital inflows to BTC and altcoins given the general agreement that US equities are overpriced at the moment. It's becoming a lot more risky to own these equities given that they're nearing the historical tipping point (avg Shiller P/E 30 for S&P 500). In the past when equities hit this level in US a downtown follows shortly after.

I like the exchange of information that this thread provides and the Friendly banter between teams.  Your Team looks more parallel to ours in production and the next time coin values drop - and it will - people will stop again, if trying to make a profit is their only motivation.

    Profit  (Hardware & software + Utilities ) X 1.31* = break even goal

*You'll have about 31% Taxes due on every $ earned with Coin.  Based on 25% Fed & 6% State - many locations even have City or County income tax - adjust multiplier to match your tax liability - in the year Earned - not year taken.

If your not setup as a business, with All required IRS documentations, NONE of your expenses are tax deductible, if you are a business Add another 15% self-employment Tax for SS

Then the Coin clearing house gets what percentage of your earned Coin - for you to actually get paid ?

Your Math is a little off; it is Not as profitable as it initially looks

Other teams do have some serious Folders - the PPD of some is staggering.

The "EVGA Team Spirit" and easy going nature, makes folding FUN and I like the Comradery of Our members

--> Just ask the members that left Coin for Team EVGA

As it all befits F@H everyone Wins
