After the release of Intel's new LGA 1200 socket, Cryorig has been able to verify that all of their existing Intel LGA 115X compatible CPU coolers are ready for Comet Lake.

Unlike most other manufacturers, Cryorig appears to have waited until they had Comet Lake processors on hand to test its CPU cooling lineup, ensuring that their designs support LGA 1200. Better still, LGA 1200's use of the same mounting mechanism as LGA 115X will allow all of Cryorig's LGA 115X coolers to support Comet Lake without the need for upgrade kits.

Cryorig now officially supports LGA 1200 on the following heatsink/CLC models;

- A-series liquid coolers
- R1 Ultimate/Universal
- C1
- H5 Ultimate/Universal
- H7 Series
- M9I, M9 Plus
- C7 Series

That means no extra cost for a new cooler if you upgrade the motherboard and CPU. At least Intel made a good decision in this respect in my opinion.

    I agree that not needing a upgrade kit was a wise move on Intel's part. It lets the reviewers push the CPU more with better cooling options in overclocking since they don't have to wait for the upgrade kits to hit the market to have great cooling options.

    Since the Intel CPUs don't come with coolers any more -- to cut costs or whatever -- Intel was kind of forced into ensuring that its motherboard design would have widespread aftermarket (or is it "the-only-option-market"?) CPU cooler support at release.

    I never use the stock Intel coolers, even when they came with the CPU

    Glad that people will not have to wait for a new version of existing CPU coolers
