As you might have noticed, the battle royale genre is as popular now as it's ever been. Games like PUBG, Fortnite and H1Z1 have struck a chord with players, and a number of other games now include their own interpretations of the genre—not least GTA Online and Ark: Survival Evolved. Now, it appears Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is next in line for the battle royale treatment. 
 
That's according to the Valve News Network, whose latest video examines CS:GO's patches dating back to May 2016. Within, creator Tyler McVicker considers a number of references within each of the shooter's updates that haven't yet made it into the game—such as compound bows, bare-fisted combat, adrenaline shots, breach charges, sonar pulses and MK2 grenades, among a number of other as yet absent features consistent with the battle royale genre.

If they ever do fully release their vaporware os expect it to have some kind of loot crate crap built in. As much as it seems I'm joking I kind of am not cause damn I'd never be surprised to see Valve and Gabe trying to find ways to make money off of people using their os.

Yup. Zero risk and almost instant return. Everything Valve is doing these days is negative towards PC gaming and they are breaking the bank for doing it. It's really sad how successful these clowns are that sell digital stickers to put on your guns in a FPS game designed in 1999, which is only still popular because it allows children to gamble. 

Don't forget that Valve also LOVES buying out dev small teams, fund then push out the small dev team's game then throws them right under the bus while keeping the IP rights so that they, Valve that is, can do whatever they want with said IP. It's like Valve has been picking up some real bad habits from Electronic Arts over the years and it sickens me to see them do that. I'd rather see Valve help grow and nurture these small dev teams instead of treating them like they're disposable all the time.

Hopefully one day something will be done about the gambling. We have zero protect to prevent game developers from rigging the chances to get the best items in loot crates. They can see which customers continue to buy loot crates or keys to unlock the loot crates, target them will lower chances on getting the item they want. 
 
A new way to subsidize game development. All the game publishers has to do is sellout customers who gamble to casinos. Allow casinos to send select customers who are at least 21yrs old a free meal coupon, if that customers spends money while at the casino, you receive a kickback.

It's slightly interesting but I don't see it really being as good as PUGB which has been a major hit. I mean it's like how we saw others try and fail to copy OVerwatch or copy World of Warcraft and fail.

Too many MMOs sunk real fast cause game devs kept touting their next big MMO as a WoW killer. Thankfully they started to learn to NEVER market like that. It was a blood bath until they learned though.

Its only fair considering Pubg has adopted their cancerous lootboxes XD

Everyone seems to want to cash in on the battle royale craze. I look forward to playing this game mode, but certainly won't pay extra for it.

I hope they don't, feels like a quick cash grab and opposite of CS:GO (unless it was a timed exclusive paid operation mode)

Everyone run away from CS because of the amount of cheats... If PBUG can not solve this cehatin g issue on their servers, CS might be lucky having a better platform for that kind of game.
