There are multiple trackers already. This one from a local newspaper website is very similar but the update times are out of sink. https://data.poughkeepsiejournal.com/coronavirus/Edit, The bing one just seems to give a tally state by state and not by locality Do yourselves a favor and zoom in, zooming out is exaggerated and seems to try and instill fear, perhaps by accident. (The circles do stay the same size but appear to grow). Also, pay more attention to the recovered numbers. Stay safe everyone and don't panic it will pass

Thanks for sharing the link! I'm all for ignoring the things I have no control over in order to increase the quality of my daily life. However, it would be silly to think this is just some over-hyped event the media is creating mass panic about. It's actually the exact opposite. Our medical infrastructure won't be able to handle it if we just ignore the warnings and let the virus spread through all of the population like it's just the common flu. It's not... I saw a news report from one of the doctors in South Korea, it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months to recover from this virus... I can't be out of work that long and neither can most of the people in the world.

They just shot down all of the schools for the next 3 weeks in my area as a precaution. As there are only 19 cases in my State. A bit of a over reacting I would say.

My hypothesis of the passed few years, "Modern day adults are Idiots!" Or "Common Sense is Dead!" is very true and proven now  ...... In all seriousness, just already have good hygiene, already have your house surplus(like TP) and food storage thats more than one week out, lets try have respect for other by not getting other sick, just because ya want that diet coke and bigmac. Ive been a cook for 20 years, fixing to go to a trade school(time for a career change), just because of the sheer stupid that Ive seen from these kids working in a kitchen (ages 20-40) do that could kill people becare they dont have good kitchen habits and dont care to learn. In short, adults these days have very little respect and good hygiene, so Im surprised this Corona-Virus hasnt taken out half this planet already....

The death rate from “regular” flu: 0.1%
The death rate from coronavirus: 1.0%
However, it’s not even the death rate that has people going bonkers - it’s the reported severity. The flu is 2 weeks max for acute symptoms. This thing easily lasts a month in even the healthiest people.
You get old enough - and live through enough seasonal flu’s - the idea of enduring something *twice* as painful and twice as long - is is enough to push people over the edge.
I used to mine. Now I compute.

Here's one I've been watching for a few days for US & Canada only. It breaks down by county within each state as well, and updates frequently. It has also been quite accurate and ahead of the ball compared to 'official' numbers. https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en For those ..people ..who are rubbishing the danger / severity of the virus and choosing to ignore any attempt to restrict the spread, here's a simple graphic as to why it is so important. It's about decreasing the number of victims our hospitals can handle at one time - "flattening the curve" as you may have heard many times recently - it is to reduce how many people die. Italy are having to choose who lives and dies right now simply because the hospitals are overwhelmed. God forbid that happens where you are, or it's you or someone close to you who are determined to be more "expendable" than someone else because selfish clowns like you choose to ignore the advice of experts. For once, put your selfishness and entitlement away and have some consideration for others:

While young people with a healthy immunity will probably not die from this virus it can still cause lasting life long effects even in a healthy person. Though even more serious is the effect it will have on the elderly. Young healthy people not taking this virus outbreak seriously are going to result in the deaths of parents or grandparents. Just take a moment to think about the impact this would have if it was to wipe out all the people you know over 60. Just take a moment to think about that. Nobody wants to be the one who caused the death of Betty White who must be protected from this at all costs!

I've changed my mind slightly about this....
I still think the store shelves being cleaned out is a bit ridiculous -- but I guess the social distancing & partial shutdowns are probably a good thing to try to slow the infection cases down to a tolerable level for medical personnel to handle the current volume.

This. I feel like many younger people have no sense of the actual reality of long term effects, and how devastating it could be for many families to stand by and do nothing. Would I want my father or father in-law to get this? Absolutely not! They may not survive. For those with Parents or grandparent's in the age group effected and especially with underlying conditions, this is a truly serious situation. The fact that many of us could be going about our daily lives carrying and helping spread this crap without showing symptoms is pretty terrifying. Is the media perhaps "over hyping" the situation? To some extent yes, however this crap is indeed here, and standing by and doing nothing is the absolute worst thing you can do.
