So I've been a loyal steelseries customer for the last 8 years but I'm considering switching to EVGA. For those who have a keyboard and mouse combo what would you say the pros and cons are?

I just got the Z20 Keyboard and the x17 mouse from 50% discount
    Pros
    • pretty chip right now due to the 50% off sale
    • good quality and sturdy build
    • since it's my first mechanical keyboard I find the switches to be a bit nicer than my friends steel series apex 5
    • very nice response speed (optical switches)
    • mouse feels nice in the hand
    • the plastic doesn't creek unlike on some mouse's
    • mouse has good response speeds and very nice DPI
    • mouse comes with extra weights
    • I would say the mouse has a good grip if you have bigger hands
    • oh yea the RGB lighting just looks super nice and everything is evenly spread out

    Cons
    • Not the best Stabilizers on the keyboard but mine aren't that bad
    • the EVGA RGB Unleash software isnt the best but I hope they add some more features since its still kinda new
    • Sadly you cant sync all the RGB together but I heard/read forums and EVGA is trying to make that happen
    • Keyboard Cables not detachable (not a problem for me but for some it could be)
    • Big EVGA logo on top of keyboard but I personally don't mind
    • Shipping wasn't the best there wasn't any bubble wrap and the items were just put in a big box, luckily mine arrived intact.

What is a custom keyboard? Sounds expensive for not much use.

I would stay away from Steelseries personally speaking, I love the customisation... but the encoders for the scroll wheels wear out too quickly

Steelseries keyboards are a little bit more simple and basic looking, still feel nice to touch though. Corsair in terms of keyboards might be the play though.
