Currently have a 3080 and a SuperNova 750w Gold. I am getting random crashes - as in my computer completely turns off and restarts while gaming. I cannot duplicate this through benchmarking or a stress tests. It genuinely seems to be completely random. It’s happened at character select screen and has happened as long as 2.5 hours in to a gaming session.

All drivers and windows updates are up to date. CPU temps are normal.

Does this sound like a PSU issue? By my calculations 750w should be fine, but I wanted to check. I’ve had the PSU since 2018.

ASUS Tuf Z370 plus
Intel i9900k
Noctua NH-U12s 120mm
2 Samsung EVO 850 (500gb and 1tb)
Corsair Vengence LPX 2x 8gb DDR4
Gaming mouse/keyboard
2 asus 24” gaming monitors
EVGA SuperNova 750 G2

Yes, if your computer is turning off or rebooting that does sound like a PSU issue.

With that said, I can make my 1600W Titanium PSU do the same thing if I overclock my 3090 FTW3 Ultra too high. So if you are running an overclock, set it to stock and test again.

I've also had bad RAM cause very random reboots. It could no longer run at its rated speed after years of working fine.

PSU is a possibility. However, I would run a full check on your RAM. If you have an overclock or XMP set on your RAM try turning it off and running it stock. If problem is fixed it's your RAM. If not, then most likely PSU or PSU cable related.

    Which 3080 do you have

Running separate power cord for each GPU socket to the PSU ?

Remove All PC OC ... after changing your GPU - you'll have to retest everything for stability

Run GPU-Z look at sensor tab to see Wattage drawn by card

Ok - so here is what I have done. Replaced the PSU. Still crashing. Replaced the RAM, still crashing.

I know my motherboard is compatible, it’s just not very “high end.” Could that be the issue? Could it be my graphics card memory?

I’ve got it to a point now where I can get it to crash pretty consistently launching cyberpunk. I’m kind of at my wits end here. Only thing left to replace at this point is the motherboard.

(I’m not terribly mad about replacing the items I did, since I planned to do that over time anyway, it just accelerated my timeline is all)

Also, as a note I am not overclocking.

I had a 750 Gold and it would only reboot in MSFS2020, but the PSU handled everything else benchmarking , stress testing , I put in a put an EVGA 850P2 and found it crashed to only Desktop In MSFS, Then I was able to figure out there was a Driver problem . So using GPUZ I could see there are some weird power spikes in some programs that may do this.

Yes I did update my BIOS. Are you referencing a driver issue with the card? I did a clean install the other day of the driver and it stopped crashing and then started again tonight
