I've been trying to design a sub-ambient or sub-zero 24/7 watercooled rig for a while. My original design was going to use TEC chips, but I'm seeing that they're very inefficient. So I'm looking at possibly going with a chiller like this one: https://www.performance-pcs.com/water-cooling/water-chillers/hailea-hc-500a-110v-1-2hp790watt-cooling-capacity-waterchiller-hc-500a.html  However, I don't know if this will be enough cooling for a 10900K and 3090 or 3080 Ti. I also was considering adding my RAM and/or VRM to the loop too (Formula mobo). For my chill box, I'm looking to use the container of a fridge like this:  https://smile.amazon.com/Coollife-1-1-cu-Upright-Freezer/dp/B08749VWTY/ref=pd_ybh_a_17 I would gut and just use the compartment that's already insulated. I'm just looking for further ideas. I also need to somehow figure out how to size my chiller - like whether I'd need something bigger like this:  https://www.caseking.de/e...leistung-wase-428.html

Oh! Thank you!
Sorry I didn't realize there was a dedicated forum for these kinds of things

Another consideration I had in designing this chill box setup is heat. I live in the South and don't want to be roasting all the time. I know many people put their chillers outside or in a garge, but where this setup will be won't be near my garage. It is on the other side of the wall near my exterior A/C unit for my house, so it's possible I could pass a water line through my wall (sounds risky). However, I'm not sure any of these chillers I'm looking at are rated for outdoors. I'm planning on putting a shed next to my house near where my A/C unit is, so I could possibly put the chiller in there. But then we're talking about a lot of things needing to happen first to make this work. Any idea how I could calculate how much heat these chillers would be putting off and/or what corresponding temps they would be chilling the coolant down to? Links in OP

web search the total Max watts of your hardware - is step one

To "do the Math to compute heat loads" TDP & Calculating Delta-T

(excerpts)

First tip: Google is your best friend to help find TDP (Thermal Design Power) of your components to be cooled in your loop.

(CPU watts @load + GPU watts @load + GPU watts @load+ pump watts) x 0.85 = Loop TDP watt estimate

To help calculate a full system TDP, you can download the interactive TDP and radiator estimation sheet (link) I* put together to help you.

Wow! Thanks for this! I'll be digging in here. I still also need a way to calculate how much heat I'll be sending into the room too somehow. I wouldn't even know where to start there. I mean, do people running dual 360 rad setups just live hot and sweaty? Or is it so minimal it's not worth worrying about?

You might want to consider phase cooling.
