    At least now there is a standard to go by.

    No, a warrant is not needed to determine where someone is right now, only the history of where someone has been over a given period of time.

    In search and rescue, they need to be able to look through the history. Often times it's an aircraft crash and the phone is a splatter mark along with the plane in some canyon and there is no ability to find where the phone is now.

    You've gotta respond to every incident. I did 2 in the last month alone. You have no idea what you're going to find. Some of us live in the real world where this might directly effect response times. I know the organization I'm with was credited with over a 100 lifesaves through cellphone forensics in the last year.
