is it good to have different colored fans such as a red case fan a blue case fan and green cathodes? would the lighting be a mess of color or is it good to pick 1 color and stick with it?

I had all red lights/ keyboard and it made me angry and uneasy. I had purple uv lights with all kinds of uv reactive stuff and it made me feel trippy. I had all blue lights and it made me lazy.

Then I started thinking about it and no one really ever looks at the side of my case including myself and all the extra wires just cluttered stuff and drew more power and distracted me while watching movies.

My case has 2 blue lights on the antec intake fans that I toned down with the help of black nylons inside (great for dust control too!) and a blue cpu fan. I even put electric tape over the blinding mobo lights. I guess I grew out of the light phase.

red fans wont take more power than blue fans... is it good? for you?

i mean, you can make your case a circus, a party nightclub or whatever you want... mixing colors wont make any difference except for your eyes and taste...

myself prefer all in Red... thats it :)

I think the blue and red worked pretty well together in my former rig

and in my new setup is mostly blue, with the red intake fan. Still doesn't get over powered.

But it's all a matter of personal preference. I am sure there are plenty of people that would hate the look I created. But that's how it goes! You just need to experiment with different setups, until you find something YOU find appealing.

I like to use blue LED fans as the front intake and white cold cathodes to illuminate the inside of the case.

I personally don't like lights because they glare a lot in the dark. I like simple 2-tone builds like black+white, black+blue, white+blue, black+red, etc. I do think illumination gives it more status, so I prefer black light since it doesn't glare at all, yet illuminates fine under the dark. (Some materials react to it. Our eyes can't see UV in black lights.)

Recently I've been using all red lights because they are less intense on your eyes.  I used to have a red/blue mix, but the blue ones got to be too bright and distracting after awhile.

Yeah I've got to say that I prefer to skip LED fans.  These are just subpar performers.  It's a shame they don't make any good ones.  High quality fans + cold cathodes are the way to go if you want colors.

Very nice rigs there, the first one is wicked.

I prefer a plan, meaning have one. I hate the thrown together rigs with different colors here and there and messy wiring. I say design a rig you are proud to show off and make it neat and tidy. If green, blue or red is your fav then go for it, same with UV, pick colors that look good together or go all one color.
