So I got 2 GTX 1070 ti FTWs in sli.

EVGA Precision indicates one is running 31c idle and 39c under load (Fallout 76). The other 35c at idle and 45c to 50c under moderate load.

Thing is, they both feel about the same temp, warm but not real hot and the fan rarely go on.

Suggestions please.

    Hello,

The bottom card of an SLI tends to be hotter than the top card. So far the cards are actually great in terms of temperature so its not really anything that needs to be changed per say.
With those cards, the fans tend to not spin up until they reach a certain temperature threshold which seems you have not hit.
You can adjust this with a fan curve in Precision X

    Thanks guys

Ok, that good to know. EVGA Precision is great for tweaking the tuning, fan speed etc.

The temps look really good with nothing to worry about. Just keep in mind as said bottom card normally gets warmer and the airflow in a computer case will change depending on the location of a cards. The top card is probably located more in the middle of the case and getting more airflow.

If you really wanted to you could always figure out which card is the warmer of the two by switching them around and gaming as long as you can keep room temperatures around the same. It's probably more work then I would do based on those temperatures though.

The card that is connected to your monitor will always run hotter than the other card.

Bottom card warmer? The top card was the warmer card for me in my SLI boxes.
Bottom card leaves a smaller space for the air to enter.
But yeah, it is normal for one card to run up to 10c warmer.

Agree with your example - it has been my experience also

However Precision will "Invert" the order of the GPUs ---> So, maybe that is why the OP sees it that way

So the warmer - physical top card is "reported" as the bottom card
