I have EVGA Z390 FTW, EVGA 1650 Super, Corsair HX1000i, Western Digital 1TB SSD. The hard drive is the only drive attached to my motherboard. When I power I see the FTW screen I am able to get into my bios the memory and the CPU are all there " Intel Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake 8-Core, 16-Thread, 3.6 GHz (5.0 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I99900K Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630" I can run the stress test, the memory amount is correct 64GIG I can make changes to my boot drive and I have, when I save and exit nothing happens..something happens I see the FTW screen again and nothing else. It has been a while since I built a PC. I have set the boot drive to the USB stick, I got desperate and installed my old DVD ROM drive, I even installed a mechanical hard drive that I was planning to use as my game drive. Nothing works I can't get past that FTW screen. I must be missing something My last build was an X58 and then a forgetable ASUS something dark water cooling rig that died after 3 years. Help Me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're My Only Hope

have you tried to reset your bios a lot of times you need to reset your bios? how many sticks of ram do you have? try it with two sticks or one stick first. I know my x299 board was given a headache until I got it boot up with one stick of ram. also you can take the bios battery out for a couple of minutes and put it back in. another suggestion make sure everything is seated properly the CPU, ram sticks, hard drives, GPU that's about all I can think of. so you have a GPU now check your bios to see if you turn off the graphics of the CPU but that should affect anything because the is no HDMI plug on the pc. also make sure the wires from the power supply are well seated in the power supply and the motherboard.

I hope I was able to help

I have four sticks of ram 16gig per stick for a total of 64. The pc is bare-bones right now. I went to the Microsoft site and used the tool to make my flash drive. The power supply is brand new there are not many cords coming out of it and it's modular. This morning I purchased three new flash drives from Amazon that should arrive by Wednesday. I will go to the Microsoft site and loade a new flash drive. I think there is something that I did not do something small. Thanks for the reply.

SATA, I thought the M.2 was for fast booting.

One final thought that should have been the first question asked. When I next power-up my EVGA Z390 FTW what steps should I take. In the boot menu what should be first should I change anything in the advance/SATA configuration menu? If I should then what? When answering pretend that I am a complete idiot.

I would update the mobo BIOS if needed to Version 1.10 which is the latest as of now. You can do that in a number of ways, but I would suggest following the method under "Flashing the BIOS Without a CPU" on page 136 of your mobo manual..Use a USB flash drive in the USB 2.0 to SPI header. If you can't see your Western Digital drive in the BIOS, you may need to go into the BOOT Section and select it in the BBS Priorities in order for it to be shown as a boot device option, then set it to Boot Option #1.

Tried it again this time and maybe all previous times I got a Checksum error, I think I got the error before, a window with the checksum error then an option to choose yes or no. This is a brand new board it has been sitting in my closet for over a year in the back and not on a carpet. A nice and cool area in the EVGA vox and in the special plastic.

Checksum error can be normal when you change hardware .. especially RAM If you have previously saved the BIOS & you still get checksum error ... likely the CMOS battery should be replace

Same thing happened to me once, bios update is usually a good idea for a new mobo
