Hi, I hope you can help me with this: I have my 1080TI connected to my Onkyo s3705 (HT R393) and the later to my LG 38UC99-W monitor. I know every single one of this components support 4k@60hz but this setup only gives me 4k@30hz. I did some research and tried every single color combination in the nvidia control panel (RGB, YCbCr444 and YCbCr422). I bought certified cables from different manufacturers and I tried every single one direct from the 1080TI to the monitor and they all give me 4k@60hz. Saddly I'm not able to contact the Onkyo support service because 1- they don't anser my mails and 2- they don't activate my forum account (on they support forum). Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Onkyo receiver support 4k@60hz (at least they put it like a feature in the said ) Someone have any clue about what can be happening? Thanks.

Hi,

The data sheet says there is only ONE HDMI outtput supports UHD 4K 6 HDMI Inputs and 1 Output for 4K/60 Hz UltraHD Entertainment This is probably more helpful than their support: https://www.se.onkyo.com/en/products/ht-s3705-118388.html Make sure you're using the right output. Oh and they will probably move this as it is clearly not an issue with the 1080 Ti.

I think you are getting it wrong. The receiver have 6 inputs and only 1 output. I'm using one of the 6 input to connect my 1080TI and the only one output to connect my monitor.
From that same page:
''There are six of the new 4K/60 Hz HDMI® inputs to connect all your media players and gaming consoles, an HDMI output with ARC to add surround sound...''

Getting 4K at 60Hz requires that the receiver has "DeepColor" options enabled. Even then, I have seen many Receivers that will only support that up to 24 or 30 Hz at 4K. According to the spec page for that receiver, the maximum pass-through resolution is 4K @ 60 Hz at 4:2:0 Chroma. It is uncommon for Receivers to support higher Chroma as all Blurays are compressed to 4:2:0 Chroma and Receivers are not made with computers in mind. https://www.se.onkyo.com/downloads/2/7/1/0/5/Manual_HT-S3705_HT-R393_BAS_En.pdf Page 17 under the section for HDMI. Ah...yes....Okay...have you tried assigning the input as PC? But I'd dig through your manual to see what options you may need to enable to use UHD 4:4:4 RGB Full 4K 60hz. You're not going to be able to do HDR at the same time.

Nope, just 4:2:2 and it don't give me 60hz
That's pretty strange. Could be in how it is reading the EDID from the receiver. If you select limited instead of RGB full, does that make any difference?

the TV might need to be set to Game or standard though, rather than pc mode.

It doesn't have the option. But don't care, I don't want to sacrifice image quality. I will keep connected through optical cable to get the better sound I can. Thanks everyone for the help!

The point being of course that the EDID capability that is reported to the GPU... Lets not confuse folks with word games.
