The 3090 FTW3 Ultra fan weren't as loud as these @ around 1800rpm/60%~70% after installing the hybrid kit. I'm currently looking at Noctua NF-F12 but unsure if they'll be usable and are more quiet? Also assuming I have to buy a fan that hits high rpm? Since these seem to be rated at 3000? The hybrid evga fans @ 60%~70% 1800RPM is base ps4 jet engine level.

Bump, same question here. I wonder if Jacob can share specs on the stock fans to help us find a good replacment.

BTW, standard ML-120 Pro RGB is 1600rpm, but you can get faster 2400rpm version that comes with their H100i AIO here

I got some Noctua NF-A12x25 and they're working great! I have an issue and is unsure if it's the fan being defective or the hybrid kit? When playing games the fan speed RPM would jump randomly, even when I set it to a set percentage in PX1. Temp are even way better than stock fans but fan RPM would jump from 1100 to 2000+ for a second and goes back down to 800 back up to 1100 and periodically jump back up to a high rpm.

Only problem with those Noctua NF-A12x25 fans is the fugly light & dark brown colors. I don't think that model comes in anything else. They're good, but ugghh... fugly. I mean look: and now this: yeah...

I'm using 9 of of these. They are pretty quiet and push a ton of air through my 3 radiators. As I type I can feel the air flow coming from my case sitting on my desk lol -- Some options might be better, but this one was way cheaper and i'm happy with the performance i'm getting.

I came to the same conclusion! I went ahead and connected the fans to my corsair hub and linked the rpm to the temps of my gpu and yeah now it's working completely fine, so maybe it's either the 4pin splitter from the hybrid kit or PX1.

I've currently got a quad of A12's on my radiators with push pull, running off the stock wiring with splitters. Works fine other than the connectors coming loose too easily and needing to be zip tied in place.

Thanks for sharing the tests. The noise is not unexpected as it's almost 1000 more rpm than Noctua, good thing that you don't have to run it at 100% and it's much quieter at similar RPM as Noctua's max, but it's nice to have that extra CFM when OCing. BTW, standard ML-120 Pro RGB is only 1600rpm max, standard and single color LED are 2400rpm. If you need 2400rpm RGB, order here.

The whole goal of a radiator should be that you don't have to run something at 100%. My fans run max 65% and my GPU temperatures max out at 52C with Cyberpunk 2077. Here this is 370W sustained load looping Timespy. From my test, Boost 4.0 maxes out like at 55C and under. You don't get anymore performance once you're under 55C. Running the fans at 80-100% is not that beneficial performance wise and will also introduce a lot of dust into your system that's unecessary. I recommend running them at 60-70% and that's it.

When I'm benching, I'm running full blast with forced AC. Thought about Koolance Chiller with HC, but waste of money for how much I'd use it. Most of the time, I'm running 60-80% in games. But my custom fan curves start at minimum 40% duty cycle. All my hybrids don't go over 55c in normal games and max in the mid 30s when benching. My 3090 FTW3 air cooled hits mid to high 60s C in gaming. Installing hybrid kit soon, but my FTW3 is average or below.

I have a pair of the 140mm version of those in my 2nd PC. They push a ton of air but they get pretty loud for being noctua.
I've only noticed them ever being loud when pushing air through a radiator with high resistance. In that situation any fan gets louder.

I have NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM for all of the 120mm fans in my system and two NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000 PWM. They are stupidly loud at full speed but as @KingEngineRevUp noted "The whole goal of a radiator should be that you don't have to run something at 100%". For any fan you get you should look at its characteristics and then build a fan curve around that performance profile (assuming you are using a fan controller). For radiators you'll want to look for fans with good static pressure performance across their RPM range. The NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 have an extremely high 7,63 mm H₂O static pressure at full RPM. As such I have my fan profiles set to 0 until 40° C, and then 500rpm with 200rpm increments for every 5° until the temperatures reach the within 2° of the max recommended temperature for my CPU. In most cases the fans stay below 1200rpm and are fairly quiet at that rpm. This essentially works as an audible alarm for me if there is something wrong. For most people I'd recommend the retail versions or chromax fans as they are more focused on noise level and will be quieter at any given rpm. The Corsair ML120 are also good as mentioned and have good static pressure across their rpm range and will be quieter than the NF-F12 (either normal retail or industrial) in most typical scenarios. The only other fan I'd recommend for radiator cooling performance / noise level would be the EKWB Meltemi 120ER Black (500-1800rpm) if you have the room for the thicker 38mm profile. They are very quiet for most of their rpm range with good static pressure at lower rpm.

I bought two 5 packs of arctic PWM PST 120mm fans last year. 4 of the 10 fans have died already. Yes a 40% failure rate after 1 year. It costs more in shipping to get the fan replaced than what the fan is worth.
