why can't EVGA just take our money...put us on a wait list for future inventory...and fulfill those orders as they replenish stock.   Why must every significant launch like 3080, PS5 and Xbox (next week) turn into a ravenous lottery system.  We have money...you have stock (if not now...soon).  Can't we make this all come together without crashed servers and angry customers.  It would also put the scalpers OUT OF BUSINESS.

    Umm... because Nvidia disallowed any pre-orders this time around...

    Especially since the bots drained those FE cards in .02 seconds

    Becouse scalpers will use the same pre ordering system and will still be faster then you , Ebay is the problem , the one shady platform that allow this kinnd of practice have you seen this ? Look what they promoting on their website you have scalpers bragging about flipping 699 card to 2300$ .

    They moved inventory at the end of the day, and people will still line up for the next batch, bots and loyalists alike. I’m sure public facing employees will express empathy but C-suite types are loving it regardless of who ends up with the cards.

    I'm not even talking about pre-orders.  I'm talking right now.  Instead of an OUT OF STOCK message let me order a card and pay for it.  My order goes on a first-come first-serve list and I get my card when EVGA gets inventory back in.  Still do the one item per household to gimp scalpers, but in a world where everyone is "eventually" going to get a card without the hassle of visiting the site hourly/daily/weekly to see if ordering has opened back up, scalpers have no leverage.  It would even help EVGA with ordering because they would know how many confirmed sales they have.

    Yeah but thats not a problem with Ebay, thats a problem with humans. If nobody would buy that 699 card which then costs 2300 Dollars for example, those scalpers and botters were pretty much fckd in the first place.
