I had managed to get my system to a very quiet state, but I kept hearing what I thought was my hard drive spinning.... After replacing it with an SSD I still heard it so I began investigating other possible sources. As it turned out it was my GTX 1070 Hybrid Edition (not the FTW Hybrid just to be clear) with really pronounced coil whine, so I'm wondering if I can get it RMA'd simply for just coil whine. The card itself works fine, great even, but the whine has gotten unbearable at times.
TL;DR the title says it all :)

Try burning it in first, then you can RMA it if the whine still persists.

Try burning it in first, then you can RMA it if the whine still persists.
Burning it in means running benchmarks and stuff for a few hours to cook it, right? Just making sure :)

Fixes for coil whine... #1 Put glue on the noisy coils. Only works if coils are exposed. Will void warranty if done. #2 Run ati tool overnight to burn the card in. Click show 3d view to start ati render test. #3 Increase/decrease voltage on the card. #4 Try a different psu. #5 Use frame rate limiter software to limit fps in game to reduce whine. #6 RMA the card.

If the coil whine is unbearable and the burn in does not mitigate the noise please let us know. We can assist with a replacement for coil whine in particularly bad or annoying cases. If you need to setup a replacement you can feel free to PM me and I can walk you through it.

No, it shouldn't have any effect on your sound card. Is your speaker/headphone cable fully inserted?

No, it shouldn't have any effect on your sound card. Is your speaker/headphone cable fully inserted?
Yeah the jack is all the way in. The whine even goes across bluetooth

I'd double check your sound settings then. Sometimes the defaults get messed up. Try setting output quality lower and see if it makes a difference. Odd that it travels Bluetooth though. Are you 100% positive it is the audio processing?

I have seen where coil whine effects the audio output as well (such as headphones or external speakers). ProtectMe427 I have received your PM and have setup an RMA ticket for you. Hopefully this will resolve or mitigate the issue. If it does not then we will have to do some additional troubleshooting to find the source.
